Sweet Tavern was a small and dingy pub in the heart of Surial City.
The bartender who looked like a supermodel eyed her suspiciously kaya naman tinaasan n'ya ito ng kilay.
She hissed. "Just give me a shot of tequila, Bryce."
Pang-apat na balik mo na 'to dito within two weeks," mahinang sabi ni Bryce.
"Tsk.
He was a Pureblood and Tiana found it absurd for him to be working in this hellhole. Sinasayang nito ang pagiging Pureblood nito. He could have chosen another path. Not be stuck in this god-forsaken pub.
Such a shame really.
"Not soon. But don't worry.
How she hated being a vampire-witch.
"Where are you staying?" tanong na lang nito habang umiiling.
"You're associating yourself too much with Turned vampires now," this time ay hindi na nito hininaan ang boses kaya napaingos siya.
"LaCorde is the best hotel in the city. Natural lang na doon ako tumuloy. I don't settle for anything other than the best," nakasimangot niyang sagot. She met him six months ago, during her first mission in Surial. Unfortunately, his girlfriend was so stubborn. She died before Tiana could reach the city and save her.
After that, naging magkaibigan sila ni Bryce. In some ways, nakaka-relate siya sa sakit na naramdaman nito. The pain of losing someone.
It would just make her weak. Weak was not in her dictionary.
"Tell me again, why are you doing this?"
"I told you already.
"That was your initial reason. We both know your reason changed as time went by."
Isa pa, you're making more money because of me. But because of me joining the Battlefront, you're earning ten times more."
She won this time. Sabagay, she always won. "Isang beer nga."
