Kenya drives to work and finds the office lights off. "Where is everyone?" she says, looking for a light switch. She finds the nearest one and flips it on. "Surprise! Happy Birthday, Kenya!"a room full of people reply. They sing 'Happy Birthday' to her and bring out her favorite cake, chocolate chip butterscotch.

"This is wonderful, thank you everyone" Kenya says. People leave her gifts and birthday wishes as she picks them up at heads to her workspace. "Look at all this, I'll have to get a second apartment to keep all your gifts inside" Kenya jokes. Jordana laughs. "Yeah, I wish I still didn't have to go out of town this weekend. It's the first time I won't be here to celebrate your birthday". Jordana has been assigned to interview up and coming artist Mýa in Maryland and she has to board the plane tonight. "I know, but I'll miss you, girl. Good luck out in the East" Kenya says, hugging her. Jordana leaves after a few minutes and Kenya reads the cards given.
At the end of the day, Kenya packs up her gifts and heads home. She carries them to her front door and sees a package with a note. 'I heard it's your birthday, lets celebrate. - Rob'. Kenya opens the package and sees a gold chain necklace and bracelets. She is in awe of the jewelry. "I knew you would like it." Kenya looks to see Rob standing outside his door. "Thank you, it's beautiful, but where are you getting the money to get all these gifts?" . "Don't worry, it's nothing illegal. I had some money left over from L.A.". He goes to put the necklace on her and stands in front of her. "It's perfect...I want to take you out tonight to celebrate your birthday. Is that OK?". Kenya nods. "I got all these presents I have to put away." . "You can keep them here, until we get back" . "OK, I'll be ready in 30 minutes". She goes inside to get ready, while Rob puts many of her gifts in his apartment.

Kenya freshens up and finds a dress to go with the necklace. After half an hour, Kenya steps out. Rob steps out at the same time. "Wow, you look beautiful" he says. "Thanks. Where are we going?" Kenya asks. "There's a Japanese restaurant I think you will love". They both go to his car and drive to the restaurant.
