As the days go by, Rob and Kenya spend even more time together, getting even closer. They share more stories of their personal lives and help each other with their goals. While Kenya helps Rob with his lines and scenes with scripts, Rob helps Kenya develop more ideas with her writing. Through ups and downs, they stay with each other and get better.

They spend more time outside together as well, like spending the July 4th weekend watching fireworks light up the sky.

"They're so pretty". Kenya whispers, cuddling Rob. He wraps his arms around her and they move in to kiss when a flash hits the both of them, "What was that? It looked like a flash!". Kenya says, trying to get back her vision. A gentleman holding a camera runs off and Rob catches him before going too far. "What the hell are you doing?!" he bellows. "I'm on assignment! Get off me!". "Who told you to take our picture? We didn't ask you to do that!". "I can't say, It's my supervisor's orders!". "Well, you can't use this photo!" Rob opens the camera, exposing the film inside. "You just ruined two weeks worth of film! You're going to pay for this!". "Get away from us! Now!" The gentleman scurries off, taking his camera and film with him.

Rob returns to Kenya, whose vision has returned to normal. "Kenya, are you alright?". "Yeah, I think so. Who was that guy?". "I'm not sure, he looked like he was part of the paparazzi" he explains. "Are you serious? It's a holiday!". "They don't see it that way. It's another day and opportunity to make some money. We can still enjoy the rest of the fireworks". Rob wraps his arms around her like before and kisses her. The fireworks continue to illuminate the sky.

July 5, 1997

The next morning Kenya wakes up to see an invite to a cookout in the afternoon on the outside of her door. The cookout is located downtown at the address given. Kenya decides to go and changes into a sundress. She grabs her purse and places her journal inside before stepping out the door.

Downtown, there are many people hanging out and getting food to eat. Kenya remembers the feelings of anxiety she had at the social conference, but tries to put them in the back of her mind. She walks to a table to get some food to eat.

After grabbing a plate, Kenya moves to a table to eat and sees Jordana holding a can of soda

After grabbing a plate, Kenya moves to a table to eat and sees Jordana holding a can of soda. "Hey Dana!" she says, hugging her. Jordana squeals equally as they greet and find somewhere to sit down. "How have you been these last few weeks?" Jordana asks. "I've been on Cloud 9" Kenya sighs. "Oh OK. This secret admirer has been taken very good care of you, Miss Kenya. What did you guys do?". "We watched the fireworks last night". "That's so sweet". "It would have stayed that way, except some photographer started taking our picture out of nowhere. He left after Rob exposed the film". "Who's Rob?". Kenya becomes stoic, as she realized she just gave away Rob's name. "Um...some guy guarding the park". "OK...that guy was rude. Why would that guy take your picture in the dark?". "I guess he thought he can make some money on the side".

They eat their meals and talk about what they still have planned. "We should have time off like this more often" . "Dana, the circuits have been out for weeks and we're not getting paid. When did they say it will be fixed?". "I think they said we'll be back to work sometime in August, why?". "I've been enjoying this time off, but I don't want to now be one of those that don't want to back to work". "I hear you, this job is too much fun to pass up". "That means I can still make the concert in Chicago at the end of the month" Kenya says. "I don't understand why The Artist couldn't come back here to perform his last show. We all can't go out of town to see him in concert".

The cookout ends after the sun sets and by the time Kenya leaves, some people are still dancing, while others pack plates to take home. As she walks to her apartment she sees Rob's door open and knocks to see how he's doing. "Rob? Hello? Are you here?" she calls out. Kenya walks inside to see Rob has dozed off on the couch. An open bottle of whiskey is on the table, causing Kenya to panic. "Rob! Wake up!" she says, shaking him. He wakes up groaning in pain."Kenya?". "Rob, are you alright?". "Yeah, how did you get in?". "The door was open. What are you doing with this?!" she asks, showing him the open bottle. Rob sighs. "You weren't supposed to see that". "Well, I did and thought the worst and almost had to call 9-1-1. How long have you been binge drinking?". "I haven't. This is the first time I've had this since I've moved here". "That doesn't make it any better. How was the callback?". "I didn't get a part in the show". "Oh no, you worked so hard". Kenya reaches out to him for a hug, but he turns away. "What's wrong?".

"I don't know if this is going to work. I mean, there was a scene where they use lipsyncing as a plot in the show and I overheard some people laugh and look at me, so I felt flustered and couldn't focus on the scene". "I'm sorry, Rob. There's still the auditions for the short film I told you about. Maybe you'll do better there". "OK, I'll give it a try". "Great! Promise me that you'll talk to me when something's wrong and not to this bottle" Kenya pleads and Rob agrees.

They continue talking and Rob starts to feel better. He notices her sundress. "Where have you been?". "There was a cookout downtown for the July 4th weekend". "I see. All the guys downtown were checking you out, weren't they?". Kenya blushes. "Well no, not all of them. You're not one of those jealous boyfriends that run off other guys, aren't you?". "No. I'm just passionate about you and I don't want to another guy to come in and take you away from me". Rob kisses Kenya's nose, making her giggle. "Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere" she confirms. The two continue to comfort each other, while they watch a movie.

Meanwhile, it has become peaceful and calm, as everyone turned in for the night. Every place was almost quiet.

"Oh my God! Now I know Kenya's date! That's Rob from that lip syncing group!" Andre declares. Justine wakes up from his excitement. "Andre, it's 2 in the morning". "I'm sorry, honey. I just remembered where I've seen Rob before". "Rob?" Justine asks, groggy. "Yeah, you remember Rob, Kenya's date?". "What about him?". "He was doing the lip syncing a while back and got caught big time. I couldn't put my finger on it before, but now I'm pretty sure he's the same guy". Justine sits up. "What does that have to do with anything?". "I didn't think too much about it, until it hit me. I can't believe Kenya would be so desperate". "Oh, not this again. Andre, why are you still so concerned about Kenya, when she left you?". "I guess there were some unanswered questions left. I wonder if she knows what kind of guy he is and what all he's been through". "I'm sure he's told her everything. Kenya's not a little girl, she can handle what comes next. Go back to sleep". Justine lays back and closes her eyes to sleep. Andre kisses her forehead.

"I'm going to find out about that relationship, even if it kills me" Andre says. "It just might..." Justine grumbles in her sleep. "Did you say something, baby?". Justine doesn't answer and Andre goes back to sleep.
