Taylor ends up winning the race.
"It's because I'm a professional." He says with a conceited smirk. I can't help but laugh at how ridiculous he is. The race track also sells pizza so we all decided to grab something to eat. The whole entire time I'm eating Luke is looking at me.
Okay, so maybe it's just me but I hate when people watch me eat. It makes me self conscious and then I don't want to eat anymore. I only have once slice before that feeling becomes too over baring.
I know that I'm not ugly and I'm not obese but still, I am insecure as hell.
Just the word insecure brings back memories of my summer in London. I zone out so I can just think about all the friends I got to make.
"Hello?" Maddison's whining voice erupts me from my thoughts. "Were you listening to me?" Look she is giving me makes me want to punch her, but I don't.
"No, I wasn't." I say with a shrug. Yeah that's right bitch mode turned all the way up. I could hear Cam and Nash start to quiet down since they were closest to us.
"Well why not?" Maddi said crossing her arms over her chest.
"Because I didn't want to." I say nonchalantly.
"Oh shit." Matt says. I just roll my eyes.
Honestly I am over this whole thing like first Maddison's weird attitude this morning, Luke and that girl, and now Maddison's attitude isn't weird it's just annoying me.
"Listen Nicole if you have a prob-" I cut Maddison. I know this bitch is not about to try me.
"Shut the fuck up Maddison damn. We all know even if I did have a problem you aren't going to do shit." I say laughing a little at the end. It's true Maddison is all bark no bite. Sure the words she says can feel like bite but I took boxing lessons for three years. I know what I'm doing.
"Ugh, whatever. If you're going to have an attitude then you can just take me home." When Maddison says this I can't help but burst into laughter.
"You're fucking kidding me right?" I say in between laughs.
Maddison is about to say something when my phone rings. I simply hold up my index finger signaling her to wait. "This will just be a second." I say in an overly sarcastic tone.
"Hello." I say with my highly sarcastic tone still in full affect.
"Hello? Nicole?" A familiar voice says.
"Yes?" I say slowly.
"Hi, this is Dr. Emily Stevens. I'm just scheduling my annual check ups. May I know when you're be available to come in."
Dr. Emily Stevens was my therapist back when I was in rehab. No I didn't do any hardcore drugs or anything. I was however anorexic for a year. It got so bad that I had passed out and had to go to the hospital. No body knows, not even Shawn. My mom was quick to cover it up. She told everyone that my stress level at school was too high and I had fainted due to it. Everyone believed her because I had all AP classes at the time and miraculously was an honor student. She sent me to London the first day of summer break and I didn't come back until the beginning of the next school year. No body even noticed my absence.
I have been healthy for about two years now. Every year Emily does these check ups just to make sure we are doing okay. She usually just takes me out to eat and then we go back to her office and talk.
"Um I'm not really sure when." I say cautiously. You see Emily would be the one to have the check up right now and I know everyone is listening to me.
