Mia's Point Of View

"Hey mom" i said hugging her not as tight as i used to and of course not as close as i used to because of her huge baby bump

"Hey baby" she hugged me back

"How have you been?" I asked entering the house

"Good good, Ethan didn't come along?" She frowned her brows asking

I shook my head "no he was half asleep when i left. He was working late last night" i said

"Oh. Thats a shame. How are you though?" She asked walking to the kitchen

"I'm good. What are you cooking?" I asked walking right behind her "wait do i smell meat?" I raised my eyebrow as i crossed my arms against my chest

"Correct. Our neighbors are coming over tonight"

I rolled my eyes "Well do you need any help?"

"No that's fine i got it. I got it. I do everything in this damn house anyway my back is already hurting me. I've been standing since the morning, cleaning and cooking. You and your dad are gonna miss me when im gone" she said putting a hand on her lower back

I rolled my eyes. Moms... always saying the same damn sentence

"It's ok. I got it. I can do it from here. You go sit down and don't tire yourself" i said pulling her away from the stove "you should've called me. I got up early today"

"It's ok-"

"So what do you want me to do?" I questioned

"Black pepper stir fried noodles" she said

"With tofu or?"

"Yes. With tofu" she said "do you know how to make them?"

I nodded "of course" i grabbed a pot. The noodles and filled the pot with water "First we let the water boil. Add the noodles and cook for 1-2 minutes right?" I asked

She nodded

"they shouldn't be all the way cooked - just enough to barely soften right?" I questioned

She smiled "right"

"Then, drain and rinse with cold water so it helps them stir fry without turning into a big blob. Right?"

"You're right again" she smiled

I smiled proudly "So now for the sauce"

"Do you know what to do?"

"I guess so. I mean if i do something wrong tell me ok?" I asked

She mumbled an 'okay'

"Half a tablespoon freshly ground black peppercorns." I mumbled

"Or a full spoon it doesn't matter to me"

I nodded

"Six spoons of soy sauce and two full spoons of honey"

"Or sugar" she said
