Chapter 25
The studio lights dimmed and a soft spotlight focused on the small ramp, from which, the guest of the evening was about to enter. The muted music started and the audience clapped loudly as the young entrepreneur entered, walking gracefully in her four inch, and black velvet-strapped heels as her long, wavy hair bounced against her gorgeous, suede pencil skirt and the dark black top she had chosen to wear tonight. As she turned to face the camera, the claps increased and she gave a stunning smile to everyone and chuckled. Greeting the host, they both sat down to start the much awaited interview.
"Welcome to Magnates Miss Annika, how are you tonight?" The host, a famous reporter, asked as Annika smiled.
"I am great, how are you?" She said with a smile.
"We are great as well, thank you so much for coming to our show!" The host thanked Annika as the audience still clapped.
"Thank you for calling me!" Annika chuckled and the host laughed as well.
"Of course we had to call you; you are such an inspiration to all the ladies out there and I am such a big fan! I don't know if you remember but you had organised my sister's wedding last year!" The host said in an excited tone to the audience and Annika nodded.
"Of course I remember, the wedding theme was vintage, the colour theme was golds and yellows and your sister wore a gorgeous, golden wedding gown!" Annika replied and the host was surprised.
"Wow, you remember! I am so impressed!" She laughed and Annika smiled again. "Well, I have to ask now; do you remember such details from every event you have organised until now?"
"Umm yeah, pretty much, that's my job!" Annika chuckled.
"So, you are saying that you remember details of about a thousand events!?"
"Well, not a thousand but maybe five hundred of them?" Annika said in a thoughtful tone and the host looked at the audience with an amazed expression.
"Wow, and I don't even remember what I wore last week!" She said and Annika laughed loudly as did the audience.
"So, tell us, how do you feel about successfully organising a thousand events in less than four years? That's more than three hundred events in a year!"
"I, honestly, did not a keep a count! I feel ecstatic! It wasn't easy but it was quite smooth. Luckily!" Annika said and crossed her fingers as everyone listened aptly.
"Oh that's very good! So, you have already told in other interviews when you started but we would like to know more, how did you start, what was your motivation, inspiration etc!"
"Well, I shifted to London from India four years ago, with my little brother. Initially I was into the catering business but later I switched to management. Before moving to London, I had done a few managing events and a management course as well. I moved here after I got promoted and I was the Manager for the event management company I worked for. I had always wanted to work on my own, so sometime later, I quit and started my own company and it worked quite well!" Annika said and everyone clapped.
"So, was it scary for you?" The host asked and Annika nodded.
"Oh yes, it was quite scary and stressful. To leave a nice-paid job in this big city, to take up such risks, I had used almost all my savings to start this company; it was nerve-wrecking for the first few months! But I was very lucky to have my brother and my friends with me, who always supported me and who never let me give up!" Annika told as she remembered her old days and smiled.
