"Annika, will you say something? You haven't said a word since we left!" Shivaay pleaded her as she walked in Vikram's house angrily, followed by Siddharth. "I told you, I am sorry-
"Shivaay, do you realize how embarrassed I felt when Aditya and Naina assumed you abuse me like that?" Annika said exasperatedly, throwing her purse on the couch. "How could you do that? I couldn't believe Naina when she said you pulled her out of the ladies washroom. Ladies washroom? Seriously Shivaay? How could you even-
"Rudra said-
"I don't care what Rudra said! It doesn't make your actions okay. Tell me, did he say I was there, dying? No right? Then why did you-
"He said he saw you and Aditya kissing!" Shivaay interrupted and she looked at him, eyes wide and mouth open.
"What?" Siddharth asked on her behalf and Shivaay nodded.
"He saw Naina and Aditya, mistook Naina for you and-
"How did he 'mistook' Naina for me? He met her. He should have known we were wearing the same freaking dress and why, why would he think that it was me and not Aditya's girlfriend-
"I don't know! Ask him!" Shivaay said and Annika sighed as Rudra walked in slowly.
"I could hear you all...sorry Di, it was very dark there and I was a bit drunk and then I saw you walking towards the bar and the next thing I saw was Aditya and this woman wearing a maroon dress making out behind the bar and I thought it was you because you had just went to the bar and I thought it was you because of the dress too and then I called Bhaiya and the next thing I know is you all are fighting outside the pub and Sumo is freaking out because Rumya is here alone and then we are in the car on our way-
"Okay stop!" Annika stopped Rudra's long explanation and he sighed, looking down like a little kid. "I get it."
"Anni, can I talk to you?" Vikram asked her as he stood at the stairs. Annika nodded and followed him up to the balcony as Shivaay looked angrily at Rudra.
"I think you guys should sort it out. Privately." Vikram said as he closed the balcony door. "Take Shivaay to your place and just, talk this out. We'll take care of Shivi."
"No Vikram, I can't leave her here every time I have a tiny problem-
"Of course you can, she's like our daughter too." He said and shrugged. "Just go. And listen, I don't know how to say this or should I even say this-
"What?" Annika asked, confused at his hesitant tone.
"Okay listen. I am not discouraging you in any way and I know a relationship needs a lot of work before it even starts working properly, but...promise me...if this starts getting too much...or too toxic, like it was before, you will stop this."
"Vikram-
"I know I never said anything against Shivaay, unlike Sid, but that doesn't mean I am a fan of him and his...antics. You know him better than any of us, you know what he was like before and I know, people change, like you did but still, I just want you to be careful. We've all seen how it affected you, you were vulnerable to new relationships, to new men around you and...I would literally kill him if he hurts you." He said and Annika couldn't stop herself from crying. Tears welled in her eyes as she hugged him tightly.
"Thank you for caring so much for me." She sobbed and he chuckled.
"Well, a brother has to look after his little sister, right?" He said and wiped her tears. "Now stop crying, you look ugly."
"I know." She said and nodded with a chuckle.
They left the balcony when Sonakshi came up to her and put a hand on her shoulder while Vikram left them alone.
"What Vikram said, I have the same opinion. And I support you in every decision, okay?" She smiled and Annika nodded.
"Thanks. By the way, how do you know what he said? Did you guys discuss this beforehand or were you eavesdropping?" Annika asked suspiciously and her friend shook her head.
"Neither. I know what he wanted to say, it's written all over his face since the day Shivaay came back in your life." Sonakshi said and Annika frowned.
"Really?" She asked. "I never read it."
"Well, that's why I am his wife." Sonakshi said proudly and Annika nodded her head slowly with a soft smile . "I mean, I am sure you and Shivaay can read each other's faces as well?"
"Yes, we are a little out of practice because of all those years but, yeah, pretty much." Annika said and Sonakshi hummed in understanding.
"Anyways, just sort this out as soon as possible otherwise it'll become more tangled and will become a problem from which you both can't get out without getting hurt." Sonakshi adviced and Annika's shoulders hunched.
"Why is this so difficult? Why can't we have a problem free, fight free relationship!" She groaned and her friend looked at her.
"Well, that's because it's literally not possible. Now go and clean this raita." Sonakshi said and pushed Annika as they quickly walked down.
"Sahil?" Annika said as they reached down to the living.
Sahil and Shivaay sat on the sofa, talking animatedly to each other.
"Didi!" Sahil said happily and ran to his sister. "I totally forgot about SSO coming here!"
Annika smiled as her brother hugged her and looked at Shivaay, who smiled at her.
Shivaay looked at the siblings and smiled to himself. It felt so good to see Sahil after so many years, he had grown taller, healthier and his operation's result looked very successful. To say Shivaay felt overwhelmed with happiness to see Sahil like this would be a lie. He felt ecstatic and suddenly, all he wanted was to start a brand new life with Annika, Shivi and Sahil.
But Annika's face suggested otherwise. He knew she felt very upset about whatever had happened and although he knew it was an honest mistake, he still felt sheepish. He also felt angry at Rudra but then, it wasn't entirely Rudra's fault too. He saw something and informed him, that's it.
"Sahil!" Soumya said happily as she entered the hall with Rumya in her arms and Sahil immediately left his sister.
"Soumya!" He said dreamily as he walked to her, with a huge smile on his face. "Who is this baby?"
"This is Rumya." Soumya said and Sahil's eyes widened.
"Oh she's so cute!" He exclaimed and pinched the baby's cheeks as Rumya giggled loudly.
"Sahil, how about you stay with us for a while and play with all the kids!" Vikram said and Sahil shrugged. "Your Didi and Shivaay have to...go out."
"They probably have to resolve a fight." Sahil shrugged, his mind focused on the little baby in his arms. "Like always. You guys go, I'll be fine."
Shivaay looked at Annika, who nodded and took out her keys. They walked out of the house without a word, knowing that a million words between them were pending.
