Peter's vision was blurry as he ran, limping more and more with each step. He tried to get away but he couldn't, the bullet wound in his leg drastically slowing the boy down. Wishing he'd have gone out wearing his suit, he fell to the ground, weakly looking up. He was rapidly losing blood and oxygen as he trembled, his head pounding. He begged and pleaded for mercy, knowing he would get none at all. All he could see was a gunshot flying just barely passed his face when he blacked out.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

That dreaded sound flooded Anthony Stark's ears as he knelt down beside Peter's pale body which peacefully rested on the hospital bed. The man looked terrible. He slightly quivered, his dull eyes fixated on the teen which lied in front of him. He had hardly eaten in a few days, since Peter had been found unconscious. No one knew if he would awaken or not. Tony had simply sat there for hours on repeat, hearing that constant beep. Though annoyed with the repetitive sound, he was glad that the obnoxious sound had not yet ceased. The man would not be able to deal with that.

Suddenly, Peter stirred, his eyes slowly opening. Tony's eyes welled up with tears, but he quickly wiped them away. He would be too embarrassed to show emotion, as he was usually cold and distant.

"Mm.. Mr. Stark?" Peter quietly asked, his leg and right eye throbbing.

"Oh my God, Peter-" Tony mumbled as the boy leaned up in bed. Tony gently hugged him, as not to cause him any pain. However, despite the injuries which were scattered across his body, Peter tightly hugged Tony back.

"M-Mr. Stark... wh-what happened? Why... why does it hurt?" Peter softly inquired, leaning on Tony for support.

"Peter- you were unconscious for a week... I didn't know if you'd ever wake up. When we found you... you had slits across your face and body, and a bullet wound in your leg." Tony's voice was steady and quiet, though he was slightly trembling.

"Oh," Peter began to remember. He broke apart from the hug, touching the side of his face. There was a long scar. Luckily, the boy had mostly healed, and the pain wasn't horrific. The two would be able to return home soon.
