Peter had expected the hit. He knew it was coming. He didn't expect there to be such little physical pain. He didn't expect the emotional pain.

Peter always looked up to Tony, literally and figuratively. He thought of him as a father figure, much better than his biological father. He loved Tony dearly, and always thought of him as a role model. He aspired to be like him, the incredible Tony Stark. Ironman. When he felt the slap, however, he lost respect.

Not for Tony, however.

But for himself.

Tears poured down Peter's cheeks as he looked down weakly. He rubbed his cheek where he felt the impact.

"That's enough." Steve said, pulling Tony away from the teen. Stephen and Bruce had just stood there in shock due to these events. Tony clung onto Steve tightly, still incredibly furious.

"Go home, Peter." Tony said in a quiet voice.

For once, Peter listened to him.

Peter arrived home, clenching his mask in a shaky fist. He rang the doorbell anxiously, too exhausted to go in through the window. Pepper opened the door after a few seconds, seeing the disheveled, distressed boy. He still had tears dripping from his eyes.

"Peter-" She said in a soft, worried voice. "Come in, where were you? What happened to you?"

Peter sniffled, entering the house. "Nothing." He mumbled, beginning to walk towards his room. Pepper immediately stopped him, pulling the teen into a hug. Peter tried his hardest to not break down into sobs in Pepper's arms. He didn't hug back, however, he simply allowed Pepper to hug him.

"Peter, what happened?" She gently asked, a concerned tone to her voice. Peter simply shook his head, as he felt too sick to even talk. After a short while, Pepper departed from the hug, placing a kiss on the boy's forehead. "You should get some rest, Pete. I'll be here if you need to talk."

The young teen took a shaky breath and left. He tried to wipe his tears, but they seemed never-ending. He flung off his suit, weakly falling into bed and beginning to sob.

Meanwhile, Tony Stark began hyperventilating. He weakly clung onto Steve, feeling light-headed.

"Tony, hey, deep breaths." Steve said, rubbing Tony's back. Tony was visibly trembling. It seemed as if Steve was the only one supporting him after what had happened.

Tony tried to take deep breaths, his face going pale. He hated this feeling. His grip on Steve loosened as his breaths became more and more erratic.

Steve held him up, still rubbing him. "Come on, it's okay. Just breathe."

After a while which seemed like a century for Tony, his breathing became normal and heart rate slowed.

Although, Peter was still experiencing these symptoms.

"Mr. Parker, it appears your heart is beating at 114 Beats Per Minute, and you seem to be hyperventilating. Should I get medical assistance?" A female voice boomed. Peter flinched, although he recognized the sound.

"N-no... j-just... just l-leave me alone."

"Will do, Mr. Parker." F.R.I.D.A.Y. responded.

The young teen continued to quietly weep, until he heard a noise.

The Avengers had arrived home.
