Peter quickly took off his clothes, changing into his suit. He looked back out, seeing that Tony and Steve had already left. However, Pepper was back. He shut his door again, opening the window. He looked around, before crawling outside.
Tony cursed under his breath.
"Language." Steve mumbled, though his eyes were wide as he looked up.
Dr. Stephen Strange was trapped in the window of a building, his body wedged under rubble. He tried to get out, but, of course, could not. The building's structure was unsafe, and the building was about to fall and crash into the one beside it. Tony and Steve knew the risk was too high to try and save Stephen themselves.
Dead bodies were scattered on the ground. The "bad guys" had either already escaped or died.
"You okay up there, Strange?" Tony called, looking behind him. They had been waiting for Bruce Banner, who had yet to arrive.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just about to fall to my death." Stephen said sarcastically. Tony sighed.
"Where the hell is he..?" Tony grumbled.
Peter gasped as he arrived, watching the scene. Tony was calling someone, Steve was pacing around nervously with a destroyed shield on the ground, and Stephen was trapped. There was fire and bodies everywhere.
Peter shot his webs towards the building next to it, climbing on top.
"The building has a 78% chance of falling, Mr. Parker." Karen said from inside Peter's suit. He took a shaky breath, nodding. He shot another web, trying to stop the building from falling.
"What the actual f-" Tony's eyes widened as he saw Peter.
"Is that the kid?" Steve asked, cocking an eyebrow.
"Can someone help me for Christ's sake-" Stephen groaned. His shaky hands clung onto the window sill. As the building moved, the rubble loosened, raising the chances of Stephen falling out of the building itself.
Peter groaned quietly, strenuously pulling on the web. The building moved more into place as Peter pulled it. The building finally moved into what seemed like it's original place, and Peter let go. He breathed heavily, smiling confidently.
"The building has a 100% chance of falling."
"What?-"
The building began to collapse as Strange clung on tightly.
Then it stopped falling.
There was a loud grunt as the building got pushed up.
Steve and Tony both let out breaths they didn't know they had been holding.
"My God, Bruce, finally." Tony said.
Peter watched with wide eyes as this all happened, beginning to feel light-headed. He watched as the Hulk picked up Strange with a ginormous hand, placing him down on the ground and flipping the building into place. Peter took heavy breaths, his body trembling. He was petrified of what Tony would say when he got down. If it wasn't for Bruce, he would've ruined everything.
Stephen exhaled with relief, his hands still trembling of course. He shoved them in his pockets, as the three men watched Bruce shrink down to normal size. Tony, however, had not calmed down, unlike the others.
"PETER PARKER-STARK! GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW." He shouted loudly, his hands both clenched into fists.
Steve raised an eyebrow at Tony, bringing him closer. "Shh.. calm down.." Steve said softly, but Tony was trembling with anger and fear.
Peter, however, flinched at the sound. He bit his lip, his body quivering. He hesitantly shot a web towards the ground. The young teen took off his mask, slowly walking towards Tony.
"M-Mr. Stark?" Peter said, a hint of uncertainty in his quiet voice. He tried to hold back tears which hung on to his eyelids, threatening to escape. "I-I'm sorry-"
"You REALLY think 'sorry' is gonna cut it?" Tony said loudly, in a stern voice. He walked towards Peter, despite Steve's efforts to hold him back. "You SERIOUSLY think, after ALL this, just a SORRY is acceptable? You had me worried half to death! How the hell did you even know we were here? You go against everything I say just for a little thrill! Oh, let me NOT listen to Mr. Stark who knows what's best for me, just cuz' I wanna be cool and fight crime! You know what would've happened if anyone died because of this? Stephen wouldn't have been alive because of you, if it weren't for Bruce. What you did was HORRIFIC, Peter! It was irresponsible and terrible. What if YOU died, Parker? Who would that be on? Me. I don't want that on my conscience. You dying from being an irresponsible, stupid little brat is NOT something I want to take the blame for, Peter. God, you don't even know how terrible this is."
Peter backed away, taking shaky breaths. "Sir-" He tried to speak, but everything he said got cut off by Tony's rant. Tony suddenly stopped walking towards Peter. He stepped out of his suit, his face pale.
"Tony, don't-"
"Don't be so hard on the kid, Tones-"
A tear dripped down Peter's face, flinching from the impact.
