Finally, the day Peter had been dreading was finally here.
School.
It wasn't the work he was so worried about. He was usually a straight A student, and had finished all his summer work.
It was the people.
He was, however, excited to see Ned and MJ. But, that was about it.
The teen yawned, getting up out of his bed when a taller figure entered his room.
"Oh, you're already up." Tony smiled, his voice dripping with pure exhaustion. "Morning, just, uh, get ready. Steve made breakfast."
Peter nodded as Tony left. He ran to get changed into a flannel and jeans. He put on socks and rushed to the bathroom to comb his messy hair and brush his teeth.
The teen slid downstairs and into the living room nauseously. He wasn't in the mood to eat. He slid on his converse, saying good morning to everyone.
"Hey, kid, want pancakes?" Steve asked, but Peter shook his head. There was a loud noise blaring in his head, which wasn't making his nausea any better.
Soon, the teen was out of the house, sprinting to catch the bus.
"Hey, Ned!" He exclaimed as he entered the familiar building. Ned turned to see his friend, and walked over to him. "Hey dude! How was your summer?"
Peter had a flashback of the events. "Um, eventful."
They walked to their lockers, before hearing a voice.
"'Sup, losers," MJ's familiar voice flooded Peter's ears, causing the two boys to turn around.
"Oh- hey MJ!" Peter said, trying to ignore the ringing sound.
The day went by incredibly slowly. Peter couldn't concentrate on anything at all, and felt dizzy.
"Excuse me, may I use the bathroom?"
Peter ran to the restroom, throwing up in the toilet. He couldn't decide if his nausea was due to his spidey-senses or something he ate or drank. Maybe just nerves. 'Probably all.' He thought. As he stepped out of the stall, he found someone he immediately recognized.
Flash.
"What's up, Penis Parker?" Flash asked, a smirk on his face.
"Hey Flash." Peter quietly mumbled, walking towards the sink. He turned the water on and quickly washed his hands, turning to leave.
"Where are you going in such a rush, huh?"
"Just- uh- back to class."
"Yeah, right." Flash let out a laugh, striking Peter in the face. He winced, falling to the ground. Flash continued to kick Peter's ribs, picking him up from the ground. The teen wriggled, struggling to get away from Flash's grip. Flash inflicted one more hard punch before he slammed Peter's head against the wall, grinning. "See ya, loser."
Peter's eyes welled up with tears as he gagged, slumping down against the wall. "God, this blows," He mumbled, trying to calm his breathing. His mind wandered off, thinking about what would happen later this school year. This was only the beginning. Flash hadn't gotten his friends involved yet. Panicked, he tried to hold back tears. "Ow," He whined, trying to get up. As soon as he was on his two feet, he clenched his book bag and painfully sprinted out of the bathroom and out of the building.
Tony arrived at Peter's school when the day ended. He had to admit, he missed the childish teen. He texted him to inform him of his arrival, parking his car by the front of the school. But, minutes passed after minutes, and the teen had still not arrived. Tony decided to call him.
Peter climbed up a building, not caring if anyone saw. He had sworn off of using his suit after what happened to May. Once he got to the top, he sat down, clenching his stomach. Tears spilled down his cheeks at the pain. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to survive another year of this. He barely lasted last school year, and he had totally forgotten how bad it was.
He felt his phone vibrate. He shakily took it out of his pocket, his heart stopping when he saw who is was. What would he say? He hesitantly decided not to pick it up.
Tony groaned when his call went to voicemail. He began to text Peter.
[If you don't answer now, you're grounded]
Peter stared at the text, his eyes wide. "Dangit."
He pressed a button to call Tony back, and he picked up in less than a second.
"Hey-"
"Peter, where the hell are you? I've been waiting outside your school for over 15 minutes, and you're still not here. Do you mind explaining-"
Tony stopped speaking at the sound of quiet sobs.
"Peter, are you okay?"
Peter tried to steady his breathing, sniffling. "Yeah-" He lied, wiping his eyes.
"Peter, seriously, where are you?"
"Uh- on top of a building-"
"You're what?? Oh my god- what building?"
Peter gave him an address, and he began driving, putting the phone on speaker.
"Peter, I'll be there in five minutes, okay?"
"O-okay, dad."
"Do you want me to stay on the phone?"
"Um... yes- well- if you don't mind-"
"Kid, it's fine."
"...Thank you."
"No problem."
The next few minutes were mostly silent. Peter's breathing began to steady however, just by listening to Tony's calm breathing. In and out, in and out.
"Kid, I'm here, get down, gonna hang up now. Bye."
Peter didn't get a chance to say anything before Tony hung up. The teen climbed down the building, seeing Tony get out of his car. He jumped down, cringing at the pain. He limped to Tony, tightly hugging him and sobbing into his chest.
"Pete, what the hell's happening?" Tony gently hugged back, noticing how injured the boy was.
"Bathroom- an- and- F-Flash- and i-it hurts- and I'm s-sorry-" Peter stuttered sentence fragments, knowing Tony wouldn't understand. Tony broke apart from the hug, examining Peter.
"Look at you- Peter, you're bleeding!" Tony examined him, cupping his face gently. Even from this slight touch, Peter inhaled sharply.
"Come on, let's get you home, I'll have Bruce or Stephen check you out." Tony wiped away the teen's tears, motioning for him to get in the car.
