The day was finally here- Christmas. It was a pretty big deal in the Avengers Headquarters. Peter woke up early that day, and by early, he woke up at 8 A.M. He awoke all of the Avengers, and ran to the living room. The childish teenager sat by the tree, waiting for everyone. Most of the Avengers weren't happy with being woken up, especially Sam.
"Tony, if your spider kid wakes me up one more damn time-" He mumbled, walking to the kitchen to get himself a cup of coffee. In the kitchen, he saw a bunch of mugs of hot chocolate which Peter made. Sam found a cup with a silhouette of him on it, and yawned, smirking.
The Avengers got their cups, except for Tony, who poured the hot chocolate out and stumbled around the kitchen to get himself a coffee.
The only other Avenger who wasn't exhausted was Clint, who was sitting by the tree with Peter. "Come ON, guys, Home Alone is starting!" He whined as Peter chanted "Merry chrysler!"
Both Clint and Peter tried to hold back laughs. They loved annoying the Avengers just slightly more than they loved Christmas.
"Peter, I'm disowning you." Tony whined, smirking. He was obviously not as upset as he was when he didn't get his coffee.
After a while, everyone opened their gifts, along with Peter getting a bunch of Ironman things from Ironman himself. It was finally Tony's turn to open gifts hours later (what do you expect, there's like 20 people). He opened the gift from Steve last. It was just an envelope. He ripped it open, reading what was inside.
"'Coupon for a date night with Steven Grant Rogers', ew." Tony joked, laughing. Steve smiled, looking at his phone. "Oh, it's 1 P.M., you should get dressed." Steve winked, and Tony fake puked.
"Where are you taking me, huh?"
"I'm about to change your life."
"You're so gross, stop."
Peter looked at them as they talked. "Wait, best friends take each other out on dates?" He whispered to himself. "How come I've never taken Ned out on a date? Oh my God, am I a bad friend? No wonder he stopped hanging out with me!"
A while later, all the Avengers had parted ways, and Tony walked downstairs. The short man was completely dolled u. His hair had a bit of gel in it, which shone in the dim light. He was wearing a black suit with a white undershirt and brown dress shoes.
"Well, hello Anthony Edward Stark." Steve got up from where he was sat, smiling. He, as well, was wearing a suit and looked snazzy.
"God, you're hot." Tony smirked. "Too bad you're so cheesy."
Steve laughed, grabbing Tony's hand. "Shall we leave?"
"Ugh, this is what I'm talking about! Just pick me up and throw me in the car, I wanna leave."
Steve smiled, carrying Tony to the car.
The two men drove to Manhattan, without Tony knowing, of course. "Why are we here?" Tony asked, raising an eyebrow as the two got out of the car. Steve just smiled, taking Tony's hand. "You'll see."
The time was around 2:45 when they arrived at the Richard Rodgers theater.
"Hamilton?" Tony asked, a smirk growing on his face. "I never pegged you as a musical person, but here we are." They claimed their tickets and got their front row seats. Around three, the musical started.
It ended around 6 P.M., in time for dinner. When it ended, both men were teary eyed.
"Never thought I'd cry over a founding father, but once again, here we are." Tony wiped his eyes, grabbing Steve's hand. "Same here. We better get going, we have dinner reservations."
"Really, Cap? And where would that be?"
"Somewhere where it was really hard to get reservations, you could say."
They dined at one of the fanciest restaurants in all of Manhattan.
After a while of eating, pictures with fans, and Tony throwing food into Steve's mouth, they left the restaurant. Tony thought they would go home, since it was already 8 P.M. But, Steve had other plans. The men stopped at the Rockefeller center tree, the lights nearly blinding them.
"The kid would love this, we should take him." Tony remarked, taking a picture.
"Yeah.." Steve mumbled, a hint of anxiety in his quiet voice. "I- uh, Tony?"
"Yes, captain?"
"Remember how I said, someday, everything would make sense?"
"Yes, and it still doesn't."
"Well, that day is today."
