yumi brought lucas into the house as it started raining harder. lighting could also be heard. she took a blanket and wrapped it around him. she then brought him to the bathroom to heal his wounds. they both kept silent this whole time.

yumi took out the first aid kit and a ice pack to put around his black eye.

lucas brought the ice pack to his eye and stared at yumi with so much admiration. it shocked her how much emotion he could express with only one eye.

"i'm sorry you have to see me this way."
lucas mumbled quietly.

"no it's okay there's nothing to be sorry about"
she replied feeling tears in her eyes which could fall out at any moment. she was emotional and didn't like seeing her love hurt.

" w-who did t-this to you?"
yumi stuttered as she felt warm tears coming down her face. she swiped them away but she felt another hand on her face. she closed her eyes.

"why are you crying love ?"
lucas said softly, cupping her face.

yumi's heart fell to the floor at that word.

lucas was all red at the words he said (but she couldn't tell because of the dark)

" i couldn't do anything to save you"
she started crying.

"it's not your fault. don't worry"
he comforted her and stroked her hair.
he was tearing up too.

they stood there wiping away their tears as lucas started coughing.

yumi being prepared and all , already had the two cough drops in her hand for him.

he took them and placed them in his mouth.

"thanks love"
he smiling.

-lucas was hiding what happened to him but he knew he had to spill it at some point. he was pretending that all was fine when it really wasn't.-

yumi led lucas upstairs to get him into some dry clothes.
she went into her brother's old room.

"you have a brother?"
lucas asked.

"yeah but he moved away to go to college."
lucas nodded at her response.

as lucas was changing in the guest bathroom yumi went downstairs to get some snacks as she knew both of them would be hungry.

she took a little tray with two little packages of ramen and some cookies. she also brought the banana milk just in case lucas didn't want the strawberry one she had originally brought.

she started going upstairs. yumi got to the top floor and heard faint cries coming from the guest bathroom.

she knew lucas wasn't okay. she put her ear to the door and heard him sobbing. yumi tried opening the door but it was locked. she dropped the tray loudly making lucas quietly gasp.

"open the door right now!"
yumi said in frustration. she kept turning the knob and started pounding on the door.

the door unlocked and she opened the door seeing  lucas sitting on the bathroom floor holding his knees with his head down not wanting yumi to be seen.

yumi crouched down.

"tell me what happened."
she said rubbing his back.

it took some time for lucas to calm down his cries and tell her what was wrong.

but when he did yumi face immediately changed.

yukhei felt as if he was suffocating in his thoughts of what had happened that night. he proceeded to tell the only person he trusted about his parents and how his dad is always drunk. how he abuses him and how his mother doesn't do anything to help her own son. it's always been like that.

and how now they're gone and he can't do anything about it. he's too weak to do anything.

yumi hugged him trying to comfort him just like he comforted her.
" it's okay now you're safe"

she now knew that he must of never been loved and she was going to change that.

"i love you so much"
she blurted out..

lucas' head popped up. dried up tears on his pale face looking at yumi right in the eyes.

"i love you too"

yumi grabbed his face and kithed him softly.
lucas kithed her back. yumi smiled throughout the kiss at the flavor of his lips, cherry cough drops that he had taken before.

they both pulled back smiling at each other.
