it was the morning of graduation day. yumi woke up to the smell of baked bread. more like burned bread there was smoke coming from the kitchen. she ran downstairs and found lucas in the kitchen smiling awkwardly while holding a plate with burned bread on it. his hair messy with his cute duck socks on that she gave him. the bread didn't even look like it was bread anymore, it was extremely burned and completely black. she picked it up and tapped it against the rim of the counter. it was rock solid.
he frowned " i wanted to make you breakfast for our big day today.. but i guess it didn't work out."
she smiled at his cuteness.
"it's okay let's just eat some cereal okay?" she hugged him tightly.
"okay" he hugged me back.

~after graduation ceremony~
all the graduates stood on a stand for graduation pictures. yumi and lucas stood there next to each other smiling. she felt lucas' hand envelope mine softly. his thumb gently started caressing her hand.
the weight over both their shoulders was finally removed. school was over and yumi had everything she could ask for.
they walked around the neighborhood holding hands. they swung their intertwined hands up and down. she spotted her favorite spot of the whole school. the school garden...
she dragged lucas with her while running towards it. they ran around the fields of flowers as the sun set. just like the old times.

they had dinner that night. just them two. they went to this little japanese restaurant near their school.
once both of them ordered, lucas got on his phone.
she was confused at his action.
then she heard a ding from her phone. she looked at lucas who was still smiling staring down at his screen. she took out her phone and saw a notification from "lucas🍓"
she laughed.

hi you know we are like right in front of each other right?;
lucas🍓: yeah but i'm shy
why are you shy??;
lucas🍓: cause you make me nervous😌
lucas🍓: stop staring at me like that kim yumi
she giggled.
our food is here get off your phone and talk to me ❤️;
lucas🍓: i'll try
[contact name changed to "lucas 💌"]
"we can finally have some edible food unlike in the morning" she laughed remembering this morning.
lucas frowned .
"it's okay i was just joking" yumi pecked his cheek.
"let's eat!" she said digging into my ramen.
it made lucas laugh as he just watched her eat.
she looked at him. he then immediately stopped staring at her and started eating, still blushing.
a smile was on her that whole day
