~ i heard the ruffling of the bushes once more as i looked up to see him ride off in his bike. i held the flower in my hand but knew i couldn't let him go this time.

the next thing i know it, i'm there riding after him. i finally catch up to him, and he looks back at me with a smile.

"yumi.. save me."
his smile doesn't disappear
but his eyes tender .

my hands fiddled on the handles of my bike.

"w-what?"
my eyebrows furrow together as i stopped my bike.

he nods and grins.

"i love you"
and just like that he rode off quickly over the hill. the honey sun grazed over his skin.
then he disappeared.

i tried to paddle to get to him, but i couldn't. all strength in my body was gone just like he was. i cried and cried for help but nobody else could hear me. i was hopeless as i suddenly fell to the floor with weirdly no pain. i held the flower in my hand tightly as my eyes closed. ~

"lucas.. lucas... where are you..."

"yumi wake up.."
i suddenly felt someone shake my shoulder.
my eyes fluttered open.

taeyong came into view with wide eyes.

"finally you are awake."
he said.

"where am i? where's lucas?"
i stood up and looked around.
my heart sank once more as i saw him laying on the hospital bed with the same gas mask over his mouth and nose.

immediately i took a glance to the heart monitor. thankfully the line was spiking up once more.

"he had flatlined and it turns out he had been shot with some type of drug. he's still unconscious though and the doctors don't know what to do. you actually fainted when they said he had flatlined. do you remember anything? are you okay?"
he rambled on.

i started feeling more at ease and my breath got steady.

"im fine"
i gave him a reassuring smile.

"okay I'll be right back"
he left the room leaving me alone with lucas.

i stood up next to him and held his hand once again.

i started thinking about the dream i had with him. it was as if i was dreaming of the past. of the time that he returned the flower from the garden to me. he told me to save him and i was determined to do that.

i knew it was some type of sign that i was gonna be the one to save him.

i outlined his face with my finger. softly dragging it all over the curves and details of the beautiful face that used to smile and laugh so lovingly.

he suddenly started coughing. the gas mask over his face started to get foggy. his eyes were wide open as he looked at me.

the door opened and i got pushed out of the way. doctors and nurses flooded the room as he coughed and coughed.

over all the loud talking of the doctors i could still hear the piercing voice and eyes of lucas calling out for me.
he choked it out quietly as he kept coughing.

"doctor nothing is working the patient is still coughing! what are we doing to do?"
one of the nurses said in panic.

the doctor also looked worried and lost.

i saw lucas mouthing out my name.
he pointed at something behind me.
the only thing behind me was my purse. i was confused at first but finally got it.

my hands explored the inside my purse as i grasped the brand less bag of cough drops. i took one out unraveling it and running up to lucas quickly taking off the gas mask and stuffing it in his mouth.
