Namjoon was trying to get used to his crutches. The others were laughing as he looked half terrified when Yoongi came back in from his phone call warning Namjoon about the prospect of stairs.
"Not on my watch you don't," Jin shook his head, "You're taking the elevator Mr. God of Destruction."
"Hey, I'm getting better with breaking things," Namjoon retorted. This was a lie. He practically broke his phone trying simply to put it in the cup holder of his car the day he met up with Jimin.
"I doubt that," Taehyung smiled.
Six of the seven were still getting used to each other again, though none seemed to care about dwelling on four years apart. They had their family at the ends of their fingertips. Though they knew they weren't complete again, they were so close to it that they couldn't help but feel happy.
Happy. That was a word they hadn't known in so long.
Happy was a word that could only describe the opposite of those four years.
Happy was a words that couldn't describe them only a day ago.
But now, on this day, happy was the only word to use.
It is said that spring is a time of birth. When mother nature comes and revives the dead and dormant. One spring day can revive even the most broken things and they knew, at that moment, that that couldn't have been a more perfect description of them.
They had broken. They had remained broken for many painful years. However, broken things are meant to be fixed. And here? Right now when they were almost all back together heading out for the first breakfast as family after 4 years – 1460 days – spent apart? This is where they were beginning to be fixed once again.
"We should head out now," Jin motioned to the door, "There's a café down the street where if it's your birthday, your entire party eats free before 10am."
"But none of us have a birthday today," Hoseok smiled with a confused look on his face.
"They don't know that," Jin laughed before pausing and turning back to Hoseok, "Happy Birthday by the way."
They all laughed and Hoseok rolled his eyes playfully. They all headed for the door, almost all out in the hallway before something hit the back of Namjoon's crutch. A little yellow stress ball, one with a Sharpie drawing of a cat, rolled into the hallway from the room.
They all looked up in confusion as a pink haired boy lay bedridden, staring out the window inside. The rain had lifted, revealing a shining, colorful world of blues and yellows outside the glass.
"Stupid rain," the pink haired boy smiled, laughing slightly.
