Light Beam and Dark Thunder were always meant to be on opposite sides. Enemies with a past and no possible future.
Superhero. Supervillain.
Righteous. Nefarious.
Popular. Infamous.
But there was only one little problem with that: they liked their...

"Took you long enough." I sighed as I got inside Maze's car.
"Are you okay Len?" He almost looked concerned.
"Uh--why wouldn't I be?" I shrugged.
"I don't know maybe because you were kidnapped?"
"Dark's harmless. Can you please drive me home now? The stupid costume Fel stitched me is getting itchy. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate it and I love Fel but this costume somehow just brings out the worse in me, you know?"
"Why didn't you just stick with a hoodie and sweats for your costume?"
"Because Fel thought it wasn't cool enough and the least I could do for her was look like a superhero she wouldn't mind being associated with in case my identity got out."
"She does have a point." Maze shrugged.
"You get to wear decent human-like clothes!" I groaned.
"I made my choice, you made yours." He smirked.
"Mazey? Do you think Mr. Brenner's freaking out about this whole thing?"
"More than freaking out. Easily. I heard they called an emergency board meeting to discuss the implications of this event."
"I guess this means someone's always going to have to stand guard at the Tower?"
"I suppose anyone who breaks in to the tower doesn't really have access to anything except the tower itself--they're conducting a huge ass meeting to discuss vandalism?"
Super Tower had been very careful as far as containing information was concerned. Everything was backed up onto at least two physical drives and seven different online servers. Each of those servers was backed up (again) and protected by several layers of encryption.
So that was not a concern.
However, the tower itself with all its fancy, unnecessary quirks was way more valuable to everyone than it should've been.
Up until now, nobody had really tried to break into Super Tower. I mean, why would you, right? It's basically a building full of people who'd happily kick your ass. So why would you even try to go inside?
And it wasn't really worth the effort during holidays either. Because soon enough someone would show up and make sure you were dealt with. Which meant painful consequences.
However, now that Dark Thunder had done it, everyone probably wanted to do it?
"What if someone wants to pull of an elaborate heist at Super Tower?"
"And what would they possibly want from inside that place?" I raised my brow at Maze.
"Good point. Arson?" He suggested.
"Really?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"It would be more of an inconvenience than most supervillains these days." He snorted.
