Kat’s POV

1 month later

I was walking down an alley way one night. Why you ask me? I don’t know, but it was not a smart idea. I turned and went to go cut across the sidewalk when suddenly a hand covered my mouth. I struggled against the body, trying to break free before everything became black.

When I woke up, I realized that I was tied to a chair. I blinked, trying to get the blur out of my eyes. Once I could see clearly, I took in my surroundings. I was in a dimly-lit room; it looked to be a basement of something. The walls were made of cement and there was a small window looking out towards the harbor in the far right corner. I looked down and examined my current situation. My hands were tied to my sides, my ankles, more loosely tied, were tied to the legs of the chair. I was simply focusing on breathing when a door opened. I turned my head to get a good look at my kidnapper.

Ace.

“Ace what the hell is going on?” I asked through gritted teeth. He gave me a malicious smile. “Oh sweet Katherine, sweet, gullible, Katherine.” He said, and lightly stroked the side of my face. I pulled my head as far away from his reach as I could possibly get. “Don’t pull away from me.” he growled, grabbing the side of my face. I turned my head and bit his hand, sinking my teeth in as far as they would go. He yelled out in pain. “You little bitch.” He growled and slapped me across the face.

I kept my strong exterior up and glared at him, my face almost menacing. “You’re such a deranged person, Ace. I knew I should’ve never trusted you. I hate you Ace. I hate you so much.” I growled out. He looked slightly shocked, before he started glaring at me again. “How dare you. You need to learn some respect, you bitch.” He growled, slapping  me again.

I let out a humorless laugh. “Ha, you think I’m afraid of you. Don’t you? Well I’m not. That’s exactly what you want though. You want me to be afraid; you want me to beg for mercy on my life, you want me to cry. Well guess what Ace? I fucking refuse. I will not stoop to your level, I will not give you what you want.” I said, holding my head high. “Oh Kat, you’re always so stubborn. Well what’s going to happen when no one’s here to save you? You’ll be begging for your life soon enough. Trust me.” he stated, his eyes darkening to a dangerous black.

It scared the shit out of me, but of course I didn’t show that. “Doubt it.” I said, before Ace turned and walked out of the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
