Kat sighed, another lovely day at school. At least she got to see Riley, her best friend. She grabbed her bag, yelled bye to her parents and went down the stairs to her car. Once she arrived at school, she walked to her locker to find a very excited Riley. "Guess what?!" Riley said. Before Kat could even answer, Riley was already off talking a hundred miles an hour. "Riley." Kat said slowly. "What?" She had stopped talking. "English please." Kat answered sarcastically. Riley scowled. "Were getting a new guy today." Riley looked at Kat expectantly. "And?" Kat said, looking at Riley the same way. Riley groaned. Kat smirked. She knew what Riley was getting at, she just couldn't resist teasing her. "I know. I know. You want him to be cute, sweet, and 6'0" so you can be his lovely girlfriend and eventually get married." Kat said with an eye roll. Riley scowled again. Kat laughed at her best friend. "You need to let that fantasy go," Kat said, "Otherwise you'll never find a man." Kat teased, just as the warning bell rang, making Kat slam her locker closed and run to class.

"Today we are going to have a new student." The teacher started. "No, Casey is hotter than Tyler." "No way , Tyler is so much hotter than Casey". Kat rolled her eyes at the two girls behind her. Honestly, these girls need to get a grip. "Personally, I think they're equally as hot." Riley whispered. "Good Lord Ri, you're just as bad as they are." Kat whispered back. Riley laughed. "Students, this is Jeff Knight." Kat looked up to see a guy somewhere around 6'0" tall with brown hair, messy, like he had just gotten out of bed, he had blue eyes, and he was dressed casually. A pair of jeans and a gray tee shirt. "Where have we seen him before?" Kat whispered to her best friend. Riley never teared her eyes away from his hair, but she answered her. "He's Jeff Knight. He's the 'Bad Boy.' He hosted one of the biggest parties last summer, remember? Riley asked.

Ah, Jeff Knight. Kat already didn't like him. He was known for being a player and she hated guys like that. "Okay Jeff say your name, your age, and something about yourself" the teacher said. "We are going to go around the room and make introductions as well." She said. "My name is Jeff Knight, I'm 18 years old, and I'm single." he winked, making practically all the girls in the room swoon. "Wow, interesting." Kat mumbled sarcastically with a roll of her eyes. They went around the room doing the same thing until they to one of the ditzy girls that had been fighting about boys earlier. "Hi my name is Jaquie Johnson, I'm 17 and I'm single." She flipped her hair and smiled flirtatiously. Kat rolled her eyes at the way they were throwing themselves at him. He was just a guy. Finally they got to Kat. "Hi my name is Kat Thompson, I'm 17 and you're an ass." Kat smirked at Jeff. "Thanks for the compliment sweetheart, I'd say you looked like a bitch, but well that would be an insult to bitchy people." Kat's smirk was replaced with a scowl. She opened her mouth to respond but before she could the teacher spoke. "Kat! One fact about yourself. Now! And students, please watch your language." the teacher demanded. "I can dance." Kat grumbled and rolled her eyes. Jeff found her truly beautiful. She had light brown hair that fell in waves, green eyes, and was wearing a pair of black jeans with a purple sweater.

The bell rang signaling class was over and Kat was out the door and on her way to study hall immediately.
