~one year after Shays murder~

Amanda's P. O. V.
After ringing the doorbell a fourth time Charlotte finally opened up. "What are you doing here" she asked rudely. I was slightly offended by her tone, but made sure it didn't shine trough. After all, it had been a depressing year for her. "Hey Charlotte. How are you" I asked compassionately. "Take a guess" she huffed. "I'm sorry. But you have to come out sometime. You've been inside here for God knows how long" I pleaded. "Pfff, my parents don't care about it. It's like they forgot they have one daughter left. Why do you care anyway" she sneered. "Because I am your friend. We've been worried about you-" "We?" she cut me off. "Andy and I" I explained. "Andy? So you're still friends with that murderer" she snapped. "He is not a murderer he had nothing to do with it and you know that" I replied with the same force. "Yes he is je knew she was up there and did nothing to stop her! I should take someone from him to get even" she growled. "What?" "You heard me. I've told him before and I will stick to my promise. He won't get away with this" she continued. "No. " I said. She looked up suprisedly. "What did you say?" "I said no" I said doing my very best at sounding confident. "I won't let you. He's innocent" Charlottes eyes darkened. "So you're chosing his side" she growled. "I'm not chosing sides. But I'm not having your back at a revenge plan" I replied. "No, it doesn't go that way, he has to pay and you're either with me or against me. Who will you pick. Your best friend of three years? Or a random boy you've known for less than a week!" she snapped. "This is not about picking sides. This just isn't right. But if you play it like that so be it. Than I'm against you" as soon as the words left my mouth I already wished I could take them back. Charlotte looked genuinly hurt for a brief moment but then regained her anger. "You're just doing this because you're crushing on him" she sneered. "What? No Andy is just a friend" I protested. "Oh cut the crap! I see the way you look at him, you're head over heels for the boy. Do you really think that by picking his side he'll sleep with you? Because that won't happen you know" she sneered. That was the limit. "Enough! I'm done with you bossing me around and making me feel like shit whenever I dissagree. We were such great friends once but now you're this cinical mean person. You used to be different what happened" I blurted out. "What happened is my sister got murdered" she hissed. I sighed. This wasn't the Charlotte I knew, Shays passing had broken her. "I'm sorry" I mumbled and left, convinced that that would be the last time I'd see her.
How I was wrong.

~present~

A tear rolled down my cheek as I remembered the last time I talked with Charlotte, or rather fought. I never thought she'd actually persue her revenge plan, yet here I was, laying in bed with the knowledge that she could be sending Andy another threat any moment. Yesterday he called me again, telling me she went to Rye and told him about Shay. Knowing Charlotte she probably left some information behind or twisted the truth to make Andy even more guilty. Turning against Charlotte broke my heart, especially back then, but I had to do something. I scrolled trough my contacts untill I found Rye and pressed call. "Hello?" a confused voice asked. "Hello Rye, it's Amanda" I said. "Hi Amanda, why are you calling me?" he asked. "Because I want to speak to you about Andy. I know Charlotte told you about Shay and Andy won't be able to tell the story objectively because he blames himself. Meet me at 2pm in the coffeshop in Westfield. I will give you some insight on the matter" I explained. Rye remained silent. "Does Andy know you're calling me?" he asked after a short pause. "No and you're not going to tell him. It's for his own good" I responded without hesitation. "... Okay then. See you at 2pm then" Rye answered. Good, hopefully it'll help...
