Welcome back to another chapter of Sin.
Warning: Zayn's flashback contains the hint of the sexual abuse endured by his father, so please skip that part if you need to. Your safety is the most important thing to me, guys.
I hope you all enjoy this update and are just as excited as I am for Zayn and Liam's relationship to form. It will be painful, yet beautiful and healing! Lots of love. 💕
Chapter 7:
Flashback
"Dad, can we race?" I asked excitedly as soon as we reached the park. It was the first weekend of the school year. Sure, pre-k was fun, but I liked being with my mummy and daddy more.
"If your mum says it's okay," He said, looking over at my mum and raising his eyebrow. My mum smiled lovingly, she had a wonderful smile, and nodded once.
"Just try not to fall, Zayn. I don't want you hurt, love," My mum said, looking down at me.
"He'll be fine. Our little bird is a real speed devil, right?" My dad asked me, bending down to my level and ruffling up my hair.
"Yeah!" I cheered. "I'm the fastest kid at school. I know because we did a race during recess, and I won," I announced, feeling proud of myself, and I felt even better when my mum gave out a laugh.
"Is that so? I think we have a little runner on our hands. He may go all the way to the olympics," My mum said to my dad, and I nodded excitedly, even if I had no clue what she was talking about.
"Maybe so," My dad said in agreement. Then he looked at me once more. "Ready for that race, Zayn. What do you say we run to that tree and then back to mummy?" He suggested, and I got into my starting position already, making both of my parents laugh.
"It's alright. I'll make sure he doesn't get hurt," My dad said before he gave my mum a kiss, which I made an icky face at.
"Ready?" My dad asked as he got into position beside me.
"Mummy has to say when to start!" I said, and my mum smiled before she stood between us and raised her arms in the air.
"Okay. Ready, set, go!" She called, and then I started running as fast as I could, laughing as my dad was left behind while I ran for the tree. He was calling out tjat I was going to fast, that there was no way he could win, and that he was going to catch up to me.
I let out a happy giggle and squeal as I touched the tree and turned back, seeing my dad barely half-way to the tree. "You have to go faster if you want to win, daddy!" I yelled before I started running back to my mum.
She sat with outstretched arms as I grew closer to her, and I jumped into her arms as soon as I reached her. "Yay! I won! Did you see, mummy? I beat daddy!" I cheered, both of us looking over to where my dad was barely jogging up to us. "You're slow, daddy," I said.
"I guess so," He chuckled along with my mum. "Maybe we can have a rematch before we go home later, see if I can win?" He said, and I nodded before my mum let me down, and I began playing with the few toys I brought to the park. My mum and dad would join in every now and then, and it was a day full of laughter and joy.
As soon as we got home, my mum helped me take off my shoes before saying, "Alright, Zayn. I want you to take a bath before dinner, so let's go pick out your clothes."
I started to follow my mum to my room, but my dad spoke up before we could walk away. "I'll do it, love. That way, you can get started on dinner early and have a bit of time to just relax tonight," He said, making mummy smile. "I've got Zayn. Right?" He looked down at me, and I nodded, but I didn't want daddy to take me a bath.
