Day 2 for the week of updates!
This chapter is longer because of the smut-- that is honestly the reason lol
Warning: This chapter mentions the sexual abuse that Zayn went through without actually stating it, self-harm from his past, and a lot of self-doubt and regret. Please read carefully, loves.

Chapter 54:
"Are you ready to go, Zayn?" My aunt called, and I heard her footsteps coming down the hall as she walked to my room. She appeared in my bedroom doorway with a playful smile on her lips.
"Zayn, I'm sure that either shirt will be fine." She was smiling at me, but I could tell she was doing all she could not to laugh and tease me.
I was standing in the mirror with two shirts in my hands. One was a black button up and the other was a dark blue button up. It was silly, but I wanted to at least look decent to go to the dinner at Liam's house tonight.
"I know. I just... I want his mum to like me," I muttered to myself.
"Haven't you two met before?" My aunt asked, leaning against my doorframe. I noticed that she was wearing a dress with a cardigan over it, and I wondered why she was teasing me when she obviously wanted to make a good impression as well.
"Yes, but this is different," I explained, deciding on the dark blue button up. I didn't want to seem like I was attending a funeral by wearing all black. "We weren't dating then. We didn't sit down to a full meal, and there was no underlying tension."
"Liam will love you no matter what, Zayn. And I'm sure his mum will love you just as much as I do. You're worrying for no reason," She advised, and I shook my head as I buttoned up my shirt.
"You worry when you love someone," I pointed out, making my aunt offer a beaming smile at my words.
"That you do, love." My aunt grinned before pointing behind her. "I believe we have to get going if we want to be on time. Wouldn't want to make a bad impression, would we?"
I rolled my eyes at her, making her laugh aloud, but I followed her out of the room and down the hall. We both left the house and climbed into the car, driving the short and familiar distance to Liam's house.
During the drive, we both sat quietly, the only sound being the soft music playing from the radio. My aunt enjoyed listening to classical music, and I was a big fan of it myself. The piece was Symphony No.15 by Shostakovich, and I was feeling every note within me as I bounced my leg in pure nervousness.
"You're going to be fine, Zayn. It's just a dinner, and I will be there the whole time," My aunt reminded as we pulled up in the driveway of Liam's home. Her words were meant as comfort, but I was still anxious about the whole thing.
Nonetheless, I climbed out of the car with my aunt and followed her to the front door, trailing along like a frightened puppy.
She knocked on the door, and we both waited a few moments before it was being pulled open to reveal Liam standing there. He was dressed in a simple t-shirt with comfortable looking pants compared to my dark blue button up and dark jeans. I immediately felt like I make the biggest blunder, but I didn't have time to dwell on my mistake as Liam was walking forward and pressing a kiss to my cheek.
"Hello," He smiled, stepping aside and motioning indoors. "Come in. My mum is just finishing setting everything down on the table."
I followed my aunt inside, taking a hold of Liam's hand as he shut the door. I pressed a kiss to the back of his hand, earning another smile from him.
