SIXTEEN

The lecture ended earlier than I expected. That was nice at least I had the other hours of the day to myself.

Oh well, I closed my book and looked up sighting kelvin. I turned to Janie and she shook her head.
"Don't."

I rolled my eyes. "You have to meet him and talk. Honestly speaking."

She took in a deep breath like it was going to be that hard. I wasn't the one being affected so I thought it was really easy.

I held her forearm. "You've got to do this if you don't want to lose him. He won't say anything to you until you make the first move."

She was really pathetic at that moment. She held my hand with her other hand and then, stood up walking up to kelvin. I was really proud of her. I smiled satisfied and then it dawned on me that I would be walking home on my own. Damn it.

I stood up, my eyes still on my friend who was talking to her lover. His head was down like she was scolding him. That was going to be a long talk.

Okay, I've got to face myself. I finally exited my class and then I saw him again. Yeah, you thought right.

This was like a second chance. He hadn't noticed me yet cause he was in a conversation with a blonde, Collins. They were laughing and talking enthusiastically. I decided to approach them. Like why won't I approach them?

Normally, these boys don't appear on my hallway but I don't know what happened today. They were just everywhere! I began to walk towards them and before I could reach, Ahneeka ughhhh! Ahneeka appeared from no where.

"Eyy babe." She said with an ugly smile. I don't care if it was fine or not but it was really ugly to me.

"Babe?" I said to myself in disgust. I wasn't really far from where they stood.

"How was your test?" She asked with her hand on his shoulder. The test she mentioned explained why they were all rushing like that.

"It was awesome." Collins said. That accent was as awesome as he made the test sound.
"I was kinda late but it was okay." He said and turned sighting me. Surprise fully expressed on his face. I stood there trying to smile and then my eyes shifted to that witch. She was also looking at me with envy and I was sure that his diverted attention must have also made her notice me.

She then stood right infront of him shamelessly, just to block him from seeing me. That was just too childish and disgusting. She always irritates me!God! I got pissed and walked away.

How can a person be so irritating? I kept on walking in pain until I was out of the college. I took a cab to my house or should I call it Janie's. Whatever.

He would have walked up to me or I would have and we would have talked about last night. I would have walked with him and we would have gotten lunch. I would have asked him about his test but no! She just had to block our eye contact.

I paid the driver when he reached my house and I got inside. I really don't like hating people but guess what? I hate her already.

I got into the house and changed into a short flay dress. Black wasn't bad. My day was just ruined. I had to tell someone but, Janie was settling her own problem so I just decided to cook. Isn't that better? It would keep me busy till Janie arrives.

Lol, my cooking skills weren't bad but I could do some little tricks. All I knew was that, I was good at baking. No one could beat me on that. Oh well.

I got into Janie's little kitchen. It wasn't used often so all the plates were clean and arranged.I got out a pot and poured water into it. Spaghetti was the way. I couldn't even recall the last time I ate spaghetti.

I put on the gas and placed the pot on it so the water could boil. I then brought Ahneeka back into my thoughts but I shook my head. I shouldn't. I really shouldn't. I would just get pissed again.

Quickly, I put the raw spaghetti into the water and added some for kelvin. I was sure Janie would bring him back home so I cooked for him also.

I heard a knock on the door. That should be the both of them. I quickly ran to the door to welcome them and even laugh at them for the useless fight they had.

I opened the door quickly and froze. It wasn't them. I took in a deep breath.
"Well, where's Ahneeka?"

He shrugged. "I don't know."

"Uh, you were with her some minutes ago."

"I'm not with her again."

I took in a deep breath. "Well, she's a bitch. I hope you're aware."

He frowned. "Why are we even talking about Ahneeka?"

"Cause she's really exhausting."

"I'm still outside your apartment." He reminded me.

"Janie's......not mine." I moved away so he could enter into the house and he did.

"How was your test?" I asked with my arms folded like I didn't care much.

"I was late cause, you were in my way." My jaw dropped and he chuckled. He looked around and then rested on the wall.
"I wasn't even in your way."

"Not you exactly. Your good looks were."
I blushed and then looked at the floor. "If you aren't taking a seat then you ain't eating what I'm cooking?"

"Puff. Nice apartment. I'm sure you're the one keeping it clean."

I rolled my eyes and walked into the kitchen. "You're eating nothing, just so you know."

He chuckled and I turned to see him in the kitchen with me. That was unexpected. "Woah. You scared me." He walked close to me and looked into the pot. "It should be ready."

"That's impressive." I said and got out the food from the fire. "So you cook?" I asked.

"I used to.....  with my mom. Especially spaghetti."
"Why spaghetti?"
"Cause it was my favorite."
"Ohh is it still your fav?"

"Yeah."
"Good."
"Why?"
"Cause you ain't eating."
"Oh come on."
I laughed in my heart but kept a straight face. "I told you before now."

"Could you be more mean?"

I then chuckled. "Okay, you'll have really little."
"You sound like a single child."
"Yeah, I am."

"I have a step sister."
"Ohh. She would be really cute."
He chuckled. "Nahh shes not."
I  began to dish the food. "Really? I actually thought she'll be breathtaking."

He shook his head. "Cause you think I am so you're indirectly saying that to me."
My hand shook and the food poured on my gown. He quickly collected the pot from my hand and dropped it on the table. "What the hell Pearl? Do you want to get yourself hurt?" He shouted like I was dying the next minute. I stood there looking into his eyes. I wasn't mad that he was shouting at me but I was happy that he really cared in that way.

He then composed himself when he saw that I had noticed and I looked away. "I don't know what's wrong with me but....I'll just go change my clothes." I said and looked at the mess on the floor. "And I'll get this cleaned when I'm back."

I said and walked into Janie's bedroom. The worry in his eyes made me feel good. I removed the gown from my body and then looked at myself in the mirror. I was only in my pant and then I thought of something really stupid.
What if I go meet him like this? I began to laugh at my stupidity but Janie and kelvin won't be back anytime soon.

Naahh. I was almost naked it's just my pant that I had on. I shook my head. I can't do this. I opened my box and then my eyes fell on my bra. I could wear my bra and a transparent short gown. That won't be bad. It wasn't really stupid like the first idea.

Immediately, I got dressed and looked into the mirror. I was legit going to seduce him. I arranged my hair and walked out of the room. He was still in the kitchen cause I didn't sight him in the parlor. I could still change my mind. Shit!
