I was dumbfounded so I looked away. "David.... I...."
I knew I didn't like Brad and Trevor wanted Ahneeka so maybe David would be better.

Maybe he'd be different but what of Selena? She was still in love with him. "I just....I just need some time to like clear up my head.....so....so I could think."

He nodded. "I'm glad you're considering this."

"No uhm don't see this as....hope or something. I really have alot of things to clear up."

"But I really like you."

"Yeah you've said it already. You've come clean but I just have to do this."

He nodded and moved away. "If that's what you want then I'll just give you that."

This was thesame thing I told Brad and nothing has happened till now. Well, I felt David would have more to offer. I got a call from an anonymous number and I frowned.

"Ugh, I've got to get this."

"Sure." I moved away from him and answered the call.

"Hello." I was a bit nostalgic at that moment. I just thought of my mom and wondered when last we spoke.

"Yeah, this is Officer Troll reporting from north district."

"Okay?"

I turned and saw a police car driving into my compound and parking infront of my house. Hey, did I do anything wrong?

"We called to inform you that Thomas Jameson was caught this morning." Thomas Jameson was the murderer.

"That doesn't explain why a car owned by the police is parked infront of my house."

The man chuckled. "Yeah we'd like you to report to the station for some questioning."

"Oh I've got visitors now. Can this be later?"

The policeman came out of the car and walked up to me. I sighted David who was already stepping forward to challenge the man.
"We're sorry but, you have to report immediately to the station."

I rolled my eyes and cut the call quickly before David would mess up. "David, it's cool. I have to follow him to the station right now."

He turned to me and nodded. "I can come along."
"No, thanks for the care. I'll go on my own and please inform Janie."

"Okay then." He walked closer to me and hugged me. That was surprising.  "If there's any trouble with you don't hesitate to inform me." He bent and pecked my neck. "I love you." I took in a deep breath and he let go of the hug.

"I'll let you know if there's any problem." I walked into the car so also did the policeman and he drove away.

Throughout the drive, my mind was on what he said. How did he just come from the blues professing love to me like, it was really surprising. David was a fun person and his eyes were just the bomb. If I told him yes maybe, I'd grow feelings for him. Maybe just maybe I'd feel thesame way he did towards me.

The man put on the radio which played girls like you by Maroon 5. My mind diverted to the song which took all my attention to the extent that I began to sing along. Maroon 5 was just talented.

I walked out of the station happily. I then realized that I had no means of going back home. No money. Nothing. It's been three hours already. I was asked some questions and I watched how Thomas was imprisoned and then I was told to come to court for his trial. I was a witness.

Okay, how would I get home? My eyes fell on Trevor's car and I remembered that he, Trevor, was still inside. He was around the whole process of questioning and all but I wasn't interested in talking to him after he completely ignored me at school. The fact that he likes Ahneeka was enough reason to avoid him.

"Okay Pearl. You won't say anything to that black jerk but you'll go straight to Officer Troll and ask if he could take you home or tell one of his colleagues to drive you home." I said to myself like a mother scolding her child.

I turned back and walked inside looking for Officer Troll but I didn't find him so I decided to ask the woman behind the counter. I never cared to keep her name in mind.

I walked up to her and searched for Trevor with my eyes but didn't see him.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"I'm searching for Trevor.... ugh sorry I'm searching for Officer Troll." I shook my head and she gave me a grin.

"Officer Troll is in his office."

"Shit. I can't believe I didn't think of that."

"Well your mind was on someone more attractive."

"No... not at all. My mind wasn't on Trevor."

She chuckled and I rolled my eyes. No! Trevor wasn't on my mind. "Thanks I'll go check his office."

She giggled suspiciously and I walked away from her. I knew she wanted us to date but sorry we just couldn't. I knocked on the wooden door and I heard him say 'come in'. I opened the door and saw Trevor seating in front of his desk. Oh no. That's was why she was giggling like that. She's going straight to hell.  "Oh sorry...."

"No. We're not in any personal discussion so you could say whatever you have to say or do you want a private discussion?"

"Oh uhm no..." My eyes kept falling on his hair since I was standing behind him. He looked sexy even from behind. "Yes go on." Officer Troll said.

"I'll just wait for you guys to be done."

"Or you want a private discussion?"

Say what's on your mind babe. "Uhm I'll just say it. I was thinking if one of your colleagues could take me home cause I'm sort of stranded."

He kept quiet for a while and I got distracted by Trevor running his hand through his hair. Then I realised why I was so attracted. He fucking dyed his hair gold. Not everything completely but just the top. He did this today cause when he ignored me I didn't notice the change.

"I'll be done with everything in an hour. Can you wait?"

"What about your colleagues?" I can't wait for an hour.

"There're all busy at the moment."

I was disappointed. "Oh."

"I'm really sorry Pear....."

"Don't worry. I'll take home." He said and my eyes widened. Shit! Nooo! My plan didn't work. I was meant to ignore him and he was meant to come begging under my feet although I knew it wasn't possible. Not even in my dreams.

"I asked Officer Troll not you." I said referring to him.

"It's not an offer." He said and turned to see my face. I stepped back.

"But what's wrong if he takes you home Pearl?" Officer Troll asked me and I looked at Trevor's face. This hair even made him more attractive.

"I....uhm...." I had nothing to say. "He'll take me home." I said with a smile and walked away.

I went to sit on a seat opposite the woman and she winked at me. Oh God. Yeah, you're going straight to hell. I began to use my phone and in five minutes he came out of the office with his keys in his hands.

Woah. Such beauty! He came up to me. "Did you need a special confirmation before realizing that you could just come to me for help?"

Hey it's me again. A reminder for you to tap on the star button. Ly
