My eyes still locked with Shayne as we continued to stare at each other. He was sitting on a chair across the room with his elbows resting on his knees and his chin resting on his knuckles. I was sitting up on the bed with my back propped up against the fluffy pillows.

We were waiting for Lisa in the infirmary to come back and show the results. Lisa took ultra sounds and took blood samples. I had stopped bleeding and it wasn't as bad as Lisa thought. Since I had hurt myself she wanted to make sure that I hadn't lost the pup. Turns out I was indeed pregnant, not too far along, but very much pregnant.

Shayne hadn't left my side and I wasn't sure if I was relieved or if I wanted to kick him out. He didn't deserve to be here with me after what he had done. He hurt me and because of him I could have lost the baby I was carrying. He was the one who threw me and made me hurt myself. I knew Shayne wouldn't have done that if he had known and honestly I couldn't hold it against him even if I wanted to.

"Did you know about this?" Shayne asked quietly.

"Are you seriously asking me that?" I asked.

"Yes, I am seriously asking you that."

"Of course I didn't know!" I snapped. "When Eric attacked me the Dr. Edmond said I wasn't pregnant. I was feeling sick but I didn't think it was because of that."

Now that I thought about it I knew exactly how it was that I ended up knocked up. Shayne and I had mated the day before Eric had attacked me. I wasn't pregnant then but it didn't take long for me to actually get pregnant.

I was pregnant....

The thought continued to run through my mind. My wolf was jumping with excitement and, honestly, so was I. This is what I had been trying to do for months. Although I would have preferred this to happen at a different time and under different circumstances, I was still happy. But I wasn't sure I could say the same about Sahyne.

Shayne kept an emotionless face and continued to eye me suspiciously. I was waiting for him to ask me something stupid like; 'is it mine?'. He would say something stupid like that. I knew he didn't trust me right now but he can't be that stupid. If I would have mated with someone else he would have felt it and even smelled it on me.

"That's why your scent was different."

"My scent?"

Shayne nodded and stood up from the chair to sit next to me. He kept his eyes in me the whole time.

"It's the most intoxicating scent and my wolf loves it. I understand why he kept jumping in excitement every time I caught a whiff of your scent."

I felt flutters in my stomach and I wanted to be happy about this but I couldn't. What if he tried to do something? What if he tried to keep me away from my baby? I would be heart broken.

Before I could open my mouth to say anything Lisa walked into the room. She had a bright smile on her face and walked towards us. Her blue eyes sparkled with excitement.

"How are you feeling?" She asked me.

"Nervous."

Lisa laughed and tucked a lose strand of her brown hair behind her ear. She set down a clip board she had and handed me some papers.

"You and your baby are going to be just fine. You do have to be in bed rest though. It was a good thing you were in your wolf form when you got hurt. That prevented you from having a miscarriage but as of precaution, I want you in bed for at least a week." Lisa said. "I would say take it easy on running while you are in your wolf and no play fighting anymore."
