I waited in front if the door for twenty minutes until the door finally opened. I quickly composed myself and put on a smile that Shayne knew so well. At exactly seven he stood at the door to our house looking just as good as I had seen him when he left.

When he saw me his eyebrows shot up and he looked extremely pleased by something. I could see his dark eyes roaming every single inch of me. Just to get another reaction from him I did a slow spin for him. When I looked back at him I could see the swirls in his eyes as he tried to fight with his wolf.

"You look...amazing." He breathed.

"Thank you." I said, feeling my cheeks go warm.

Shayne took a step close to me and cupped my face. Our eyes locked together and I felt my heart skipping joyfully. He leaned down and brushed his lips against mine. I felt an amazing sensation run through me.

"We should eat before you get to have desert." I said, a bit breathlessly.

I felt like I couldn't control the way my body reacted to my mate. My insides always melted at being in his arms. My heart yearned to be near him and my wolf was in love with the idea to being glued to him forever. I always felt tingles every single place that his skin came in contact with mine.

"I rather have desert now." He said huskily.

"Let's eat." I said shaking my head.

I took Shayne's hand and led him to dining room table. I had him take a seat at his usual spot. I went into the kitchen and brought everything out for is to eat. I served the food on our plates and took a seat next to him.

"This stuff is great." Shayne said.

"Bre helped me with preparing everything." I said.

"She'll make a good Luna for her pack." Shayne said.

"I think so too. This whole thing will soon be over and we won't have to worry about anything anymore. Eric and I are even getting along."

"I'm glad you guys are. Eric is a good guy and my sister loved him. He's like part of the family. I know everything that has happened has made it hard for him to accept you but you're doing well with this."

"I'm really sorry about everything." I said.

"It's not your fault."

No. It wasn't my fault but I felt like it was. Our destinies were intertwined from the very beginning. This was something that would have been inevitable. The moon goddess paired us up because we were strong enough to pull through this.

I have to say that I've questioned so much why everything always had to happen to me. I felt like all the bad luck had been dumped on me. I felt trapped in this mess with no way out. I felt like I must have done something in life to deserve such a punishment.

"I've come to accept that." I told him. "At first I thought it was my fault because that's how Rider set everything up. It was part of his plan."

"I promise he will pay for this soon." Shayne said.

Shayne's hands were in fists. It was no doubt we all hated Rider. Shayne didn't know how right he was about Rider paying for everything soon.

"He will." I agreed. "You know, I'm excited for it to be all over. I'm ready to put all of this behind us and be a family."
