what we really were

we were only best friends. that's all we were.

we were together from the beginning.

flashback:

"are you okay?" lisanna asked me.

i fell on the playground and skinned my knee.

"yeah i'm fine." i replied.

"you don't look fine to me." lisanna said. "here, lets go to the nurse."

lisanna helped me off the ground and helped me towards the doors that go into the building.

the nurse gave me some ice and patted my knee with rubbing alcohol.

"hey, i never caught your name." lisanna asked me. "what is it?"

"i'm lucy!" i said.

"you probably already know me." lisanna laughed.

"yeah, i do!" i laughed. "lisanna, right?"

"yep, you got it!" she laughed.

"so, do you want to be friends?" lisanna asked me.

"of course i do!" i replied.

we settled our friendship with a high five.

end of flashback.

then, she completely ditched me.

flashback:

"have you seen the new kid around here, lucy?" lisanna asked me.

"no, i didn't even know a new kid came to our school." i replied.

"well, a lot of people are saying he's the cutest one here!" lisanna squealed.

"is that so?" i said.

"i want to see if the rumors are true!" lisanna eagerly said.

"so you haven't even seen him yet?" i asked her.

"nope!"

"do you know his name?"

"nope!"

"do you even know how he looks?"

"nope!"

"great..." i thought.

"but he does have pink hair." lisanna followed me to the drinking fountain.

"what?" i spat out the water i was drinking. "that's hilarious!"

"lucy are you okay-" i cut lisanna off.

"are you messing with me, lis?"  i was laughing to hard.

"no, i'm not." lisanna said.

"oh." i got off the ground.

we started walking towards our lockers.

"so do you like anyone, lucy?" lisanna asked me.

"no not really. all the boys here are disgusting." i said.

"you don't even have a thing for gray?" lisanna asked me.

"why would i even like someone who strips!" i yelled out.

"okay lucy!" lisanna said. "calm down!"

"well, i guess we'd better head to english." i said.

"right!" lisanna followed me.

the next minute or so was just random talking with lisanna. well, not talking just trying to make each other laugh.

"oh.. my... god..." lisanna stopped in her tracks.

"what?" i looked behind.

"i... i..." lisanna stuttered.

"i what?" i tried to get her to talk.

"i forgot my english book!" lisanna ran back to her locker.

"did she forget we were going to english?" i laughed.

"might as well follow her." i walked along the corners.

"got it!" lisanna walked back to
me. "now we can go to english!"

"we don't have much time either." i noticed.

"i'll race you there!" lisanna challenged me.

"you're on!" i accepted.

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

we both ran down the halls.

i our all my night into this race.

i made it to the english doors on time.

"whew!" i wiped my forehead. "i guess i win!"

i walked into the room and sat down. i didn't pay attention that much, i was just waiting for lisanna to show up at the door.

she never showed up.

end of flash back:

i know why she didn't show up to class.
