With the destruction of the Pentagon, the military had definitely been handicapped. We spent the next few days attacking government buildings - the White House, The Capitol Building, even the Supreme Court building.
We were really the only ground to do such massive attacks in a short time period.
As far as the United States went, the humans were essentially crippled. Many federal government officials were dead. Senators, Representatives, Supreme Court Justices, hundreds of top military personnel. I believed that we missed the president. He was out of the country on diplomatic business. I scoffed at the thought.
I knew that the others were exhausted. Frederick definitely needed a break. He'd wiped all of the buildings from the face of the planet. Delaney, Jason and Winston played a key part in not letting the humans escape. Sebastian and I were more like spectators. No one was injured so my abilities really weren't needed.
We found a place to rest and it seemed like everyone exhaled at the same time.
"Do you think the war will be over soon?" Delaney asked.
"I'm not sure, but we've definitely helped. Can you see, Sebastian?" I asked.
He shook his head.
"Everything's been blurry lately. Ever since that woman made her appearance. She has to be meddling with something," he answered.
We still hadn't figured out what her abilities were exactly.
"Jason do you have any idea what her powers were? What exactly is it that she can do?" I asked.
Jason shrugged, but leaned back in his seat and looked thoughtful for a moment.
"I think it's going to take more observation before we can be sure," he said.
"Let us rest up and return to the others. We should report everything that has happened so far," I added.
The others nodded in agreement. Hopefully we us turned the tides enough with this war. Innocent people were senselessly dying left and right.

We returned back home after a much needed rest.
As we walked through the chambers, I could feel Amarande's presence fill my mind. No one entered her abode without her knowing.
Leona was the first one to meet us. She had likely been siphoning information from us the moment we arrived.
"I'll call for Philomene," she said, eyeing Jason.
I wasn't one hundred percent sure why she looked at him the way that she did, but maybe it had something to do with him being a telepath. I did not know the ins and outs of his powers, but I knew that not being able to read someone's mind made Leona uncomfortable. I also knew that she was not used to having her own mind read. Jason was likely reading her thoughts as she silently picked our brains.
We followed Leona to the main chamber - where we often met with Unknowns in the past.
"Only Court members allowed," she said curtly.
She did not want Jason and Delaney to be a part of the meeting we were about to have. I felt frustration with her - our secrecy and insistence on complete privacy was why Unknowns did not trust us. I was about to voice my disagreement, but Jason caught my eye. He shook his head silently.
I wasn't sure if Leona could block him out or not, but I was sure that Jason was absolutely going to find out what we were going to discuss one way or the other. And I knew that he would not leave Delaney in the dark either. I didn't miss that both of their attention was on me. I was relieved that I had gained their trust, but concerned that they didn't feel that way toward the other Court members. Especially in regards Jason. If he, a telepath, was not trusting of my peers then should I suspect them as well?
