Jason POV
When the Supreme finally arrived, the entire ambience of the room change. There was a power shift. A moment ago, Giovanna was the strongest person here. Now, it was the Supreme. And was she irate.
Anything her black eyes landed on was rendered motionless.
I could feel all of Giovanna's hatred aimed at the Supreme. I also sensed her fear. Deep down, underneath that mask of boastfulness and hatred was a scared girl. There was no guarantee that she'd walk out of this alive, but if she managed...if she managed to somehow turn the tables and succeed in what she came here to do, she would be unstoppable.
Giovanna gathered up her power. Her violet aura began to glow around her. She was ready. Or so she thought.
When Giovanna went flying backwards, we all jumped a little.
The Supreme hadn't even moved a muscle. Her face was straight yet stern.
Giovanna appeared in a cloud of purple fog, seemingly unscathed. I wasn't quite sure how she was doing it, but I was sure it had to be some type of magic.
"It's going to take more than that to bring me down."
The Supreme blinked once and the entire appearance of the room changed. I took a gamble and peered into her mind to see what she was seeing. Through her eyes, I could see that Giovanna had created clones of herself and each time one took a hit, she brought out a new one. The real one was hiding somewhere in the room, but she'd created a spell powerful enough to cover her exact location. The Supreme could narrow it down to the general area.
One corner of the room burst into flames, without any warning. Then another area. And another. I watched as the clones that Giovanna created melted away from the heat.
If your wish is to die, then keep hiding, The Supremes voice said in my mind. This made her even more ominous.
Giovanna emerged from another cloud of violet. She gave Myra a nod and Myra walked over to her, hands glowing. They clapped hands and I realized that Myra had transferred energy to her.
Giovanna raised her arms and the orientation of the room shifted yet again. One moment I had been near the Supreme, the next I was standing next to Augustus. I kept my wits about me by viewing the scene through the Supreme's eyes.
From her point of view, nothing had changed. Giovanna had cast a spell that was nothing more than a powerful hallucination. In reality, I was still standing next to the Supreme, but in everyone else's mind we'd all shifted.
Magical energy's greatest strength is also its greatest weakness: it is not grounded in reality. In order to defeat magic you must be grounded to the physical world around you. The worst opponent for a magic twister is someone whose powers are founded by nature's energy. Nature is reality. It is tangible. If used properly, it will beat magic every single time.
I realized that the Supreme had told me this in private. None of the others had heard this. If the information was essential to beating Giovanna, I wondered why she didn't want us all to know. I guessed it didn't matter if she was going to beat her anyway.
I watched through their eyes as the battle ensued. Giovanna fired shots of pure magical energy at the Supreme (likely fueled by Myra's power). The Supreme deflected every shot without even lifting a finger. Without warning, she raised one arm and the light around her hands began to bend and distort. Giovanna came hurdling toward her as if the Supreme was a magnent.
Her eyes widen in shock, but she managed to get her composure and shield herself before she made contact. In the Supreme's hand was a black pole, with a sharp point on the end - enough to gore even the toughest of surfaces. It was created by her dark matter manipulation.
