Rin sat, the now familiar wood of the tree giving them just enough shade as the pair consumed their meal. This was the only time of the day where Dan was truly materialized, being viewable by any who would draw near. Dan threw his head back, jacking a display of the bliss that possessed his taste buds.
"You've done it again, Oku!" Dan exclaimed, something that had become a sort of tradition between the pair. Rin laughed, a slight twinge of pink on his cheeks from the praise. He was the one to hear it first, ad he was the one to snap his neck towards the disturbance. Dan, noticing this, turned to face the same direction, where a girl with light blonde hair and greenish eyes approached them nervously.
"C-can I sit here?" She asked, timidity radiating off of her in waves. Rin's eyes, which had been filled with an innocent curiosity, lost their warmth.
"Yeah, sure, whatever." Rin said dismissively, turning away from her and back towards his meal. She had been one of the many to have found amusement in his fumble earlier that morning, and he felt no obligation to bend to her will merely because of her physical appeal or cuteness factor. Shiemi brightened, her previously lost and desperate look falling from existence in a moment.
"You're one of the after-hour students, right?" She asked the closed off other, who merely glanced her way.
"If you're talking about detention and summer school, no." Rin responded, not turning to face her, nor Turing his head. Dan raised a brow at this behavior, seeming to be far more aware of the girl's eagerness to meet and befriend a fellow Exwire. Shiemi 's face flushed as she shook her head and hands, trying desperately to convey that she hadn't meant it the way Rin had seemed to taken.
"No, uh, exwires! You're an exwire, right?" She asked, desperation slipping into her tone. Rin raised a suspicious brow, turning towards her.
"How do you know about that?" He inquired, pushing himself a little bit away from the girl, who had moved to sit on the other side of the bench facing him, and closer towards his partner.
"I heard about you from a few other exwires, Izumi-chan and Paku-chan. They said that you were a loner, so I came over to introduce myself, but..." she glanced towards Dan, who took another bite from his meal. An earbud was in one ear, the other bud being in Rin's, and she hadn't seemed to realize that he was listening, nor that the other ear was free from the musical device.
"I guess that isn't necessarily true." She breathed. Dan glanced at the dejected-looking girl, nudging Rin in the side."<What?>" Rin asked quietly in a language he didn't know the name of, nor how he knew of said language. The language itself he had known all throughout his life, having tried and partially succeeded in teaching his younger twin the language, before being told not to use the language by his adoptive father for reasons he failed to comprehend. Shiemi looked up to Rin, confused as she found herself unable to understand his words.
"<Be nice, Oku.>" Dan responded back in that same, odd language. Rin blinked, surprised, before huffing childishly.
"<What if I don't wanna?>" he asked back, still childish. Shiemi blinked twice, wanting to ask of what they were saying but not wanting to interrupt either of the speakers. Dan gave him a flat stare.
"<Oku>" Dan said simply, deadpanning. Rin sighed, giving in to the other's will, lifting his hands up in defeat and surrender.
"<Fine, I'll try.>" Rin agreed finally, seeming to emphasis the last words. Dan nodded, pulling Rin into a side hug, before releasing him, motioning for him to converse with the girl before him.
"<Well, go on>" Dan urged gently, as if to a shy child. Rin blushed slightly, turning away from his now snickering friend and towards the stranger.
