//A:N// I made a reference to a book in this chapter. FIND IT OR ELSE RIN WILL CRY (he wants a cookie and we made a bet iver this topic) so, English students and my fellow literary fanatics, find the reference!
I just looked up "Elkan" to see if I'd get anything, I received "Dan Elkan". -_- I swear I did not do that on purpose. Its' funny, but nope. Also, I took no inspiration from this other individual while making Dan nor Elkan, they were both created separately and at much different times. That is all.'Let go' Rin's mind demanded, his pupils contracting and flaring with a red illumination, glowing harshly into the eyes of the lower class demon before him.
'Let go!!' He demanded again, this time his message seeming to come across. Everything was still, the large creature slackened its jaw, sitting back on its haunches. Rin placed a hand on the bumpy, green skin that stretched over its nose, though his mind was elsewhere.
"Are you that stupid?!" Rin demanded harshly, allowing a moment of silence to befall upon them.
"My ambition" Rin began, a distant look in his eyes.
"My reason behind becoming an exorcist" he continued. He glanced over towards Ban, who stared up at him in awe.
"I will achieve it." Rin declared firmly, brow furrowing slightly as he affirmed his absolute resolve.
"I don't care what it takes. I don't care how long how long the battle'll be. I will defeat Satan!" Rin exclaimed finally. The intense atmosphere flatlined as Suguro deadpanned, standing up and looking defiantly at Rin."Thief. That was my goal." Suguro said childishly. The tensed forms of the other students relaxed, so,e gaining small grins of various extent, as the two began to bicker.
"Ehh? It's original!" Rin responded.
"Original my ass! I had it first!" Ban exclaimed
"Really? When did you decide? What year, what month, what week, what day, what second? How many times did the earth turn?" Rin asked, listing off question by question. He and Suguro were practically nose to nose as they both retorted to the other's words.
"How childish are you?!" Suguro shot back, to which Rin responded in kind.
"Me?! Childish?! What about you?!!" Shima gave a relieved laugh, a smile curled Konekomaru's lips, Shiemi gave a small giggle at the comical display of immaturity, and Kamiki released a purposefully quiet sigh of relief.
-
A gun, loaded and aimed, lowered from the shadows, no longer pointed to Rin's distant body.
"Yes, it calmed down, the students are safe." A voice told calmly, placing the weapon back into its pouch.
"It didn't draw Kurikara." The person continued.
"Yes, I'll continue surveillance." Yukio agreed, his glanced tilting upwards as he glanced back towards his brother.-
"Nice work today, Rin." Dan spoke, complimenting Rin's job well done.
"Why thank you, Dan. Shall we?" Rin questioned, bowing dramatically to the materialized other, offering him his hand, as if to dance. Dan snickered at Rin's game, accepting the proffered hand as the two were both illuminated by different transformations. Rin stretched an arm, rolling his shoulder, his tail moving in slow waves behind him as it had been released from its confinement. Rin changed little-though his rollerblades were now upon his feet was one of the things to have changed, and he was most definitely recognizable. Blue flames touched the ground, no longer burning that which it touched unless the circumstances implored it, trailing behind the pair as they moved onwards.
-
"Hey, Oku?" Dan began suddenly, the wind flowing past them like invisible ribbons.
