"See you later." Rin promised, waving Sei off as he left the small restaurant. Sei returned his wave, his smile a mere imitation of mirth, as if subconsciously sensing something were off.
"Later." Sei responded, watching as Rin exited the building.
"Hey, Okumura-kun?" He called out just quiet enough to not sound out of place or warrant the attention of those around them. Sei retracted his extended arm awkwardly, his words tangling on his tongue as he tried to formulate his speech.
"Be careful, okay?" Sei asked, his brow knitting as a slight suspicion of Rin's possibly devious intentions came to light. Rin nodded, a smile plastering itself onto his face.
"Yeah, yeah, I will." Rin assured, turning back around and walking out of the front door, the small bell ringing as the door shut closed behind him.
-
"Hey, excuse me!" A voice called out as a boy, looking to be around sixteen, ran over towards the woman. The streets were illuminated, though the sky was far darker, giving way to the thousands of gems that looked almost like glitter on an inky blue canvas, the moon seemingly absent. The new moon law among the stars, hidden by shadow and darkness alike, the large orb black amidst the clear sky.
The boy had darkish hair, tinted a slight midnight blue, his eyes-vibrant and polished gemstones-a radiant blue. Adorning him was a red, spokes collar, white sweatshirt, and black jeans. Her eyes flashed with both recognition and surprise before feigning annoyance and ignorance.
"What can I help you with?" She asked rudely, crossing her arms whilst holding a large paper bag, the contents of which a rectangular box and new clothes.
"Some guy wanted me to bring you to him. I think his name was...Himura?" The boy told, looking at her with a thoughtful expression. She humphed, scowling to herself, before gesturing for him to lead the way. He grinned, turning around and walking off, the shadows of the street swallowing them whole.

"This is the place?" Diane asked, squinting through the dark forest. Rin nodded.
"Yeah, he said to meet him here, I'm sure of it!" Rin assured confidently, circling the small clearing.
"Hold tight, I'll go find him." Rin told, his footsteps fading away as he cantered off. Diane sighed, glancing down and taking out her phone. She squinted, her eyes contracting quickly at the sudden increase of light, before remembering that the device held a built in flashlight.
Crouching down, she placed her bag on the ground, fishing out the box before quickly opening it, removing it of its contents. This was the person, she was sure of it. Granted, this wasn't her particular target, but he was a target nonetheless. He was more powerful than she could have predicted, surviving the first attempt easily and the second one unscathed. This, however, was something that he could not survive.
She pulled the plunger, filling the syringe with a translucent substance, slightly cloudy. This was a toxic solution consisting ricin and holy water, a crude creation but still one believed to be able to down he who cloaked himself in damning flames. The footsteps neared, almost silently, but her ears had heard them quite plainly. One set, she noted, and not Himura's.
She stood slowly, turning around and staring into the darkness. He, too, stood, shrouding himself in the darkness that lay just beyond the light of the grounded phone, its flashlight pointing towards the heavens. Dust particles danced within the beam, their graceful movements ignored by the two would-be fighters.
Rin's eyes, a deep blue too vibrant to be natural, glowed in the darkness, unhindered by its stark seclusion. Diane lunged forwards.
-
Diane landed perfectly atop the shorter person, smashing them to the ground with the sheer force of her velocity. He cried out, shocked by the turn of events, and moved to push her off. The needle plunged within the soft, pale flesh, and-
Pain shook the thin veil of delusion, the event shattering as easily as glass, shards falling to the ground. Rin grabbed her mid-leap, grasping her wrist tightly, his other hand mirroring the action, before slamming her into a tree that had been behind him.
Stars clouded her vision for several moments, before being blinked away in horror, the teen having wrenched away the syringe from her feeble grasp.
"No!" She shrieked, pushing back against him in an attempt of fending him off. The target, had it been her all along?
"Let's see what this little drug of yours does to the human body!" Rin screamed to her, half angry, half manic. The needle plunged into her neck, injecting its fowl fluid painfully into her body. Rin released her, moving away and allowing her body to fall to the floor, spasming and jerking, coughing up foaming saliva as if choking.
Eventually, her movements came to a slow and gentle stop, and she moved no more. Rin crouched down, pushing her head from side to side to check her now dilated and unfocused eyes. There was no spark in them, those glazed over orbs. She was dead, now and forever more.
Rin popped back up with an inappropriate energy and casualness, an odd excitement gushing through his veins and tingling at his fingertips and the end of his tail, which twitched within its confines.
"Welp," Rin said, dissociated by how quickly that had been settled.
"That was anticlimactic." He stated, lifting the syringe and eyeing it curiously.
"What the hell is in here, anyways?" He asked the forest, any form of response absent as any neighboring wildlife had fled at the start of the scuffle. Rin turned around, noticing the still on phone, box, and bag. He turned back towards her cooling cadaver, contemplative.
"Your boyfriend stole something from me," he told, approaching the warm corpse once again, looking down at her with harsh eyes and cruel intent.
"I want it back."

Yukio glanced over towards the newly opened door, waving a hand towards his tardy brother.
"You're past curfew." Yukio pointed out, soon noticing his brother's newfound bracelet. It was quite fashionable, no doubt, and looked slightly pricey.
"Yeah, yeah, sorry." Rin responded carelessly, nearing his bed before plummeting to its plush surface. Rin grinned at the ceiling, his grin turning evil, malicious even, as his mind drifted and the lights flickered off. His mind wondered to parts unfathomable to the healthy mind, ideas of grotesque plans and horrendous assaults, as though his demonic half had been stirred by the spilled blood.
Tomorrow, however, would be work. He had hidden the body, but he had yet to ensure it would never be found again. He would fix that tomorrow.

A paper bag of belongings sat on the lone desk, clothing resting within it. Beside it lay a phone, unlocked and undefended; a bracket; and a box, containing several vials of translucent liquid and three sterile needles. Dan entered his room, walking over swiftly to the single bed in the room, unaware of what else layer within.
