Rin sat at his desk, bored out of his mind. Suddenly, he sat upright, tail shooting skywards.

"THERE'S NOTHING TO DO!" Rin exclaimed suddenly. Yukio wasn't home, nor would he be for a good while, so he, Dan, and Kuro were left alone. Kuro had been sleeping soundly on Rin's bed, but had jumped up from shock the moment Rin had yelled, fur bristling as he gave an animalistic cry of a startled animal.

Similarly, a thud sounded as the showering Dan slipped on the wet floor, having been startled. He entered the room a few moments later, slapping his wet, bare feet against the ground as he entered the room. Slamming the door open, he threw a bar of sudsy soap at Rin's head, still clenching his towel with a lone hand, keeping it from falling down from his upper and lower body.

"Shut up!" Dan said, Rin dodging the approaching bar with ease. It collided with the window behind him, the many suds splattering against the otherwise clear glass. Dan spun around, bits of water spraying from drenched hair from his momentum, before exiting the room to resume showering. Rin grumbled, sitting back in his chair and beginning to push it around the room, this action being made more smoothly thanks to the chair's wheels.

His eyes widened to their fullest extent, his head snapping upwards, as an idea came to him. He stood, dashing from the room, speeding off to the kitchen.

-

"Alright, flour, baking powder, eggs-" Rin's voice listed, pausing as the sound of something cracking and spattering interrupted him. He cussed, quickly cleaning up the mess.
"Okay, milk. Milk.....here, milky milky~ come 'ere~" Rin prompted, searching the fridge for the desired beverage. He discovered it after a moment more of searching, taking it out and pouring the desired amount. Dan entered the room, a purring Kuro resting in his arms, a look of bemusement and nostalgia on his face.

"What are you doing?" Dan asked, although his words sounded scripted, almost as though he were speaking a scripted line.

"Baking." Rin answered easily. He began to stir the powdered substance, having not yet added the liquids to the mix. Dan watched for a moment with an expression that Rin was unable to place, even if he had been watching.

"Is this your first time baking?" Dan asked in a calm voice, slightly amused. Rin grimaced as powder flew from the bowl, covering his apron and exposed clothing.

"More or less, I normally only cook but some of my classmates want to have an in class party, I was asked to make the cake." Rin responded. Dan hummed curiously, watching as Rin attempted to salvage what little he could from the mess on his shirt, depositing the powdered substance back into the bowl before continuing to stir.

"Ah" Dan responded emptily. Rin quirked a brow, glancing over towards Dan, only to see a mischievous smirk to have stolen Dan's lips. In a flash of motion, Dan threw the flour bag at Rin, causing an explosion of white powder to erupt. Kuro dashed from the scene, moving to a location far away enough from the ensuing battle yet close enough to watch.

Eggs and milk and flour and baking powder quickly decorated ever surface, flour covering them most of all due to the amount of it they had prior to the battle. Rin scooped up a handful of the white substance, throwing the slightly compressed ball to Dan, before ducking, narrowly avoiding the oncoming barrage of eggs.

Giggles and yelps chorused, the occasional battlecry sounding with far more rarity, until the battle came to a close. Dan and Rin sat at the kitchen floor, clothes covered with a light white substance, hair powdery. They looked around, the cheerfulness slowly subsiding as realization dawned on them.

"I'll get the broom." Dan said suddenly.

"Mop" Rin responded, dashing after Dan to acquire the needed implement.

Yukio returned to their dorm that day, none too pleased nor surprised that his brother was absent. This was something that was not unusual, but it was something that had begun to annoy Yukio, as he had recognized it as Rin returning to his old habits. Thankfully, the only thing to have not reverted was Rin's surprising uptake of his homework, for it was nor most often done and with a decent grade, the ends of the spectrum being A's and C's.

He plopped down none too gracefully into his chair, noticing Rin's to have been rolled off to the side of the room opposite of the door. Turning back around, he took out a small stalk of papers from his bag and began reading the Classified documents.

-

The door to the shared room opened, releasing the slightest of creaks as it did so. Rin frowned at the noise, mentally noting to have it fixed later, and crept inside of the room, slowly stalking to his brother's turned back. The platter made not a sound as was settled on the cushion of Rin's, chair, the boy quickly yet silently nearing his brother's unsuspecting form. Then, still as silent as a descending owl, he pounced.

He hugged Yukio's back and shoulders with the suddenness of a striking serpent, his hold firm and tight as he gave Yukio a squeeze.

"GOTCHA!" Rin exclaimed excitedly, a squeal being the only sound of shock Yukio was unable to surprise, his shoulders jolting at the sudden contact.

"Rin!" Yukio yelled, twisting around in Rin's grasp to view the other. Rin snickered, moving back and away from his younger twin.

"Hehe, that was fun~" Rin giggled. Dan successfully suppressed his laughter, not wanting to give away his location, and watched silently. Rin backed away momentarily, lifting something that Yukio could not see up and approaching the younger twin again.

"What are you-" Yukio tried to ask, only to have a slice of cake shoved in his face frosting first.

"EAT IT!" Rin demanded cheerfully, white frosting now decorating Yukio's face, hair, and glasses. Yukio moved to shove Rin away, but Rin had already retracted himself from Yukio's reach, opting to instead lift up another small plate from the tray, a slice of angel cake resting on its surface. Dan rolled his eyes as Rin began to consume his third slice, seeming quite proud of his creation. A lone strawberry fell from Yukio's face, having trailed from just beneath his protected eye. Rin swallowed his bite and glanced over towards his brother, a look of glee on his features.
"So, what do ya think?" Rin asked, closing one eye in a prideful Wink, a lone spark of glittering light flickering from him in a comical manner.
"Pretty good for a first batch, eh?" He continued. Yukio wiped his face clean with a towel he had stashed precautiously within the top drawer of their dresser, looking none too amused.

"I think that I don't like frosting in my hair." Yukio replied dryly, tossing the used towel in the clothes bin for later washing. He smoothed out a few strands of hair with a hand, annoyed and dismayed at their sticky and slick feel. He lowered his hand, touching his tongue to a clump of frosting and cake that clung to his finger, his eyes growing wide for a split moment as delight sparked within him.
"I will admit, however, that it does taste quite good." Yukio voiced calmly, his wonder at the confection's taste subsiding. Rin grinned wide, his skyward tail curving inwards slightly and giving an excited quiver, replicating the behavior of a pleased feline rather than a similarly behaving dog. Dan's smile fell slowly as he noticed the files, his eyes narrowing in suspicion at their potential purpose.
