Rin's ears perked up as he thought he had heard a sound, only to find that no similar noise-of unfamiliar footsteps and of a door closing-resounded. He looked back up to Dan, who was changing into daily attire.

"Do you have to go?" Rin asked.

"Relax, trust me, you're going to like this." Dan said confidently.
"Besides, I shouldn't be gone for too long, I just need to pick it up." He reminded.

"I'd feel better if I knew what 'it' was." Rin grumbled. Dan rolled his eyes at his partner's childish behavior.

"Then it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it?" Dan deadpanned. Rin pouted, unsatisfied by this answer.
"That's, what I thought, now can you help me?" He asked, trying to get the bindings on his chest properly set.

"You've been doing this for how long?" Rin asked flatly, straightening the straps without further complaint.

"Yeah yeah, whatever." Dan said, pulling a shirt over himself.
"Laugh it up. Just be thankful this isn't one of those shows where the guy gets smacked in the face for seeing someone without a shirt on." Dan said flatly, referring to one of the many shows he had discovered to be on the channels that were provided on the campus.

"There, it's good." Rin said, bending down slightly and preparing to pounce.

"Don't!" Dan tried, too late though, as Rin pounced up, attacking Dan into a hug.

"Gotcha~" Rin sang, his tail moving as though he were a puppy.

"Down, boy." Dan joked, though Rin did not release him.
"Fine." Dan relented, returning the embrace before finally being released. Dan rolled his eyes at the behavior, taking out his phone and checking the time.
"I really should get going now, though." Dan mused, glancing back over towards Rin and grinning slyly.
"I can take you out on a walk later." He added, disappearing behind the front door before Rin could reply.

"Hey! I'm not a dog!" Rin protested, although the other person had already vanished.

"You were out again last night" Yukio noted as Rin entered their room. Rin's lips fell from their upraised position, annoyance setting in.

"Never get a 'hello Rin' or a 'hey, whatsup' from you anymore." Rin grumbled, more to himself than to his brother.
"Hey, Yukio, how are you?" Rin asked, setting his gaze down atop his bed.

"I was fine, until someone decided to stay out all night." Yukio told, making Rin sigh.

"I feel asleep at a friend's place, alright?" He explained grumpily.

"...Since when do you have friends?" Yukio asked slowly, as if unsure of what he was told. Rin glared at him.

"What? Do you think that demons can't have friends, either?!" Rin demanded, causing Yukio's eyes to widen in alarm. He raised both of his hands, waving them.

"I didn't mean it like that!" He said quickly.
"And...I'm sorry for calling you a demon the other day....that wasn't right of me." Yukio added. Rin blinked up at him, surprised by the suddenly apologetic tone Yukio held, of the guilt that burned in the other's eyes. Yukio walked over, sitting down on Rin bed and signaling for him to join him atop the cushioned surface.
"We haven't really been getting along very well for the last few weeks, have we?" Yukio asked quietly. Rin smiled softly, though it was not his usual cheerful smile nor one of nervousness.

"You've been a really big ass lately." Rin told, causing Yukio to laugh at the statement.

"Yeah, I deserved that." Yukio agreed.
"So, who's this friend of yours?" He asked, a sly grin overtaking his face.

"He was introduced to me by another friend, but I think I'm closer to Dan than Taima." Rin mused.
"In, Taima is a guy I met on my firs week here, and he was the one to introduce me to Dan." Rin added, explaining the bare minimum of their first meeting.
"Dan and I've been working on something, Taima has a band and-"

"What, this Taima guy has a band?" Yukio asked, momentarily forgetting his manners.

"Taima is the drummer, anyways, we watched a few of his performances and decided that we want to do that, too, so we're working on that." He left out the other activities that they did, the job that was the first and foremost for them to do. Although, the number of beings that they would have to deal with had plummeted severely in recent days, and this they had far more time on their hands than they had initially anticipated.

"So that's what you left over at the other place, you just wanted to get your guitar." Yukio realized. Rin shrugged.

"Yeah, pretty much." He agreed simply.
"But, anyways, there are a bunch of other people that I've met while at their concerts, Like Veeta, Twilight, Nico, Ocin, Mason, Elkan, Sa-" he began to list off the people he had met at those events.

"Okay, I get it, I don't need an explanation for each person." Yukio said with a roll of his eyes. He stood up, stretching.
"This was fun and all, but I need to go, I'll be late if I wait any longer." He explained.

"Work?" Rin asked, Yukio giving him an affirmative nod.

"I'll see you, hopefully before lunch. If I'm not back by twelve, just go out and treat yourself." Yukio told, handing Rin a few dollars.
"I owe you this much. Plus, I think that troll is angry enough at us from just using the kitchen once, no need to tempt him to leave again." Yukio said, Rin rolling his eyes but excepting the money nonetheless.

"Ukobach? We're fine. He's not mad anymore." Rin said with a grin, remembering the extravagant meals he and the stove spirit had concocted last time they had cooked together.

"Alright, do whatever you want for lunch, then." Yukio walked towards the door, key in hand, bit paused, having just remembered something.
"Also, I'll have someone bring over your guitar later, alright?" He asked, not waiting for an answer before opening the door, the wood giving way to something that had not been beyond it before, and walked out. Rin smiled, falling from his sitting position to plop on his back. He sat like that for a while, just sitting there, but he hadn't yet eaten breakfast and hunger soon found him.

-

"Hey, Ukobach, what's for-oh, never mind!" He called the oddly unresponsive spirit, finding a lone plate of food awaiting him on one of the tables. It was odd, though, for he had never gotten his food from that location, they would always be near the kitchen. He shrugged, taking a seat in the pre-decided spot. He lifted his chopsticks, selection first the natto. It was far from the best thing Ukobach had ever made, in fact, Rin knew that Ukobach was capable of better, but perhaps the spirit was having an off day?

Rin's mind wandered to his brother, who had oddly enough had redeemed himself in Rin's eyes despite the short time periods that separated the now from a short while before that. In fact, Yukio was actually acting quite strangely throughout that meeting. Yukio was more stubborn than that, more hard headed, and more focused. Perhaps he, too, was in the midst of an off day?

Rin lifted a rice ball to his mouth, still lost in thought.

'Maybe' Rin's eyes widened, and he began to force out the food he had just swallowed. He began to cough, flecks of scarlet speckling the table as small shards of some shiny material, mixed with half chewed rice, graced the table. He bent forwards, coughing hard now, his body reflexively trying to force up that which was lodged within his threat and mouth. He began to scratch desperately at his throat, trying to dig out the glass shard that was poking out just slightly from within his throat.
He coughed again, blood staining its previously unblemished surface.
