Chapter 42

Athena's POV

Tomorrow was Backlash. I was excited because I was facing Baron. Hopefully I win. It's a no disqualification match. It's also a falls count anywhere match. I was basically preparing today. Jeff had a match before mine. It was against Rusev with Lana at ringside. So of course I'm gonna be at ringside. I was at the gym. Jeff said he would come here in a little bit. He needed some time to take a shower. I was lifting up weights. I saw him come in. I put them down.

 "Getting ready for your match?" He asked while pecking my lips.

 "Yea. I wanna win. I have to win." I corrected myself getting the weights again.

"And you will." He said grabbing the weights also.

"Hopefully. And you'll win your match. " I smiled. 

"Maybe." He shrugged. Then we worked out for a couple hours. After we took a shower together. Because why not? Then we just got dinner and shopped a little.

*Backlash*

I was preparing for my match which was next. Jeff had his match and won. I am so nervous. Then Jeff came with me as we walked out to my theme. I ran to the ring and so did he. Then Baron came into the ring. The bell rang. We locked up. He backed me into the corner. He overpowered me. I fell to my knees. Then I delivered a low blow. I heard him yell. I laughed. THen I got up and kicked his stomach. I got out of the ring as Jeff gave me some advice. I grabbed a chair and when I went in the ring he took the chair and hit my head. He's got it several times. I was almost out. He threw me into the post. Then threw me into the barricade causing it to break. He threw me head first. He pinned me as the red counted. At that point I was out.

Jeff's POV

I was freaking out cause of what happened. You could tell Athena was out. I broke the pinfall. since it was a no disqualification match I could do that. Baron threw me causing an to hit my leg really bad. Then Baron pinned her. He got the win. I heard Paige's theme. Paramedics came out too. Paramedics were over at me helping me up while others were helping Athena into a stretcher. 

 "We have to take her to a doctor!!" I yelled, limping over to Paige.

 "No, I have to take her to a doctor. You need to get your leg looked at. You can come after!!" She yelled.

 "No! I have to be with Athena!" I argued.

 "Your leg could be broken. Just go to the WWE doctor and I'll take her. Then you can come to the doctor after. I'll text you the address and room number." She told me, following Athena and the paramedics. Everyone was shocked. I limped backstage. I got it looked at. It wasn't hurt and enough to the point where it's broken but I will be out of action for two weeks. I went to the doctor. I went to the room number. I walked in and saw Athena hooked up to a bunch of machines and wires. 

 "What happened?" I asked worried.

 "She is in a life threatening coma." Paige sighed wiping her tears.

 "Oh my gosh." I walked over to Paige and hugged her.

 "She can't leave. She still has a whole life to live. She is only 24. And she is turning 25 soon. In two months. This can't happen." Paige yelled.

 "She won't leave. She is tough." I soothed her.
