Chapter 22

Marissa POV:

The next day, we all met up at the hotel and walked down to the boardwalk.

"Hey Matt! Do you want to teach me how to penny board!" I said smiling at him. "I'm not good at it so I'm gonna need a lot of help!"

"Anything for you." He said kissing my cheek.

"Wait what's penny boarding?" Paige asked. I explained it to her yesterday but she probably wasn't listening.

"You have never been penny boarding?!" Nash asked with such shock in his voice. "Come on I am teaching you!"

Matt and I walk over to the widest part of the boardwalk.

"Okay so you're going to get both your feet on the board and hold me hand while I pull you along."

I did as he said and I started to wobble.

"Ahh! How do you do this it's so hard."

"Don't worry I got you."

Right as he said that my feet began to slip under myself and he wrapped his arms around me catching me so I didn't fall on my face.

"Woah that was a close one." I said looking up at him.

I didn't realize how close we were until he started to lean into me. My heart began I race as he connected his lips with mine. I could smell his cologne mixed with the smell of the boardwalk. This felt perfect. The kiss deepened as his tongue slid across my lower lip. We kissed for what felt like forever, but we both pulled away catching our breath. He smiled at me. His smile was literally the cutest thing I have ever seen. They way his eyes lit up and the corners of his mouth curled.

My thoughts were interrupted by hearing a large fall followed by an, "Oh my gosh ow!" What the hell happened.

Paige POV: (While this is going on^)

So Nash insisted on helping me learn to ride a penny board. I told him it's no use because I'm not like a skater girl but it's okay. I got on the board and took a big sigh.

"Hey Paige it's okay I'll hold onto you so you don't fall."

He got on the board behind me and grabbed my hips holding me steady. I could feel butterflies in my stomach. I smiled but I don't think he could see me because he was behind me.

"Now I am going to push off. Just put your arms out to the side to keep your balance. I'll hold onto you so you don't fall okay?"

I felt him push off and I tried to hold my balance. His grip tightened on my hips and I didn't want him to let go. I mean sure I didn't want him to drop me, but his hands gave me this sense of protection. He put his foot down to slow us down, then he stepped off.

"So do you think you got the hang of it? I'll let you go by yourself."

"I kinda like the help tho."

He smiled. Then grabbed my hand.

"I'll hold on and then let go okay?"

"Okay."

Once he let go I was doing pretty well. Then I guess the wheel hit a pebble and newtons law kicked in. The board stopped but I didn't. I fell off the board and my ankles rolled under me and I face planted onto the ground.

"Oh my gosh ow!" Nash ran over to me along with Marissa, Matt, and everyone else.

"Paige oh my God are you okay!?" Nash asked concerned.

"Yeah I'll be okay. Let me just get up." I tried standing up but I fell right back down.

"My ankle hurts. I can't put pressure on it." Shit. This sucks.

"Okay we need to get you to the hospital. Matt can you drive? I'll carry Paige to the car." Nash said.

"Yeah no problem." Matt said.

"I'm coming too." Marissa added in.

Nash swooped me off the ground into the bridal pose. This would be so romantic if I didn't fricken have a twisted ankle or whatever the hell happened. I wrapped my arms around Nash's neck as he carried me to the car. Matt and Marissa sat in the front and Nash slowly placed my into the back seat. Matt then drove to the hospital. It was about an hour away so it's going to take a while.
