Alex POV

I woke up in an unfamiliar room that was completely white.

"Alex! You're awake!" A voice exclaimed.

I looked around to see the boy I had met yesterday.

"Umm who are you guys?" I gave a confused look.

"I'm that guy from yesterday, and my name is John. That's my friend-"

"Peggy. And Peggy to you," the girl snarled.

"Don't mind her, she can be an ass sometimes," John laughed nervously.

"Umm... why am I here again?" I asked.

"Oh yeah! You were beat up and passed out. I found you, but I can't remember the situation very well. I was high," John conceded.

"Well, thanks for saving me I guess..." I mumbled.

Suddenly, a doctor walked in.

"You can leave now," He said, and walked out.

That as quick.

"Well, do you want me to walk you home?" John offered.

"Sure,"

The three of us walked outside, and headed to my place.

"Alright bye guys!" Peggy left us about halfway through our walk.

"Sorry last night didn't go as planned..." John apologized.

"It's not your fault,"

"Yeah it is, I'm the one who let you go outside, knowing the risks,"

"You just admitted that you smoke pot twenty minutes ago, and your worried about risk?"

"You got me there,"

We laughed.

"Oh, we're here!" I gestured to my nearby house.

He walked me to my door, and I knocked, fully knowing my dad would be pissed I hadn't come home the previous night.

"Ye- ALEXANDER! We're the hell were you last night?!" Dad yelled.

"I-I was with John," I answered.

"Alright, John. Where were you two last night?" Dad said, obviously trying to calm down.

"We were working on our project and he went outside and he didn't come back so I tried looking for him and I did but he was getting beat up and passed out so I took him to the hospital and he stayed the night and now we're here," John explained a bit too quickly.

"I thought I told those kids to back off!" Dad sighed. "Anyway, thanks for saving my son."

"I'm not your son," I mumbled.

"A-Anytime, Sir," John chimed in quickly.

"Alright Alex, you should go inside. I'm gonna have a talk with your little friend," Dad deadpanned.

I nodded, and went inside.

John POV

"I've heard a few things about you, Mr.Laurens," Mr.Washington said.

"What kind of things?" I gulped.

"I've heard you smoke pot, and I don't want you being a bad influence on my son,"

"That's... understandable," I conceded.

"So please do not do anything irrational near my son,"

"Wouldn't dream of it," I laughed nervously.

"Good, and thanks once again for helping my son,"

"Again, anytime,"

I laughed nervously
Like I always do
I laugh
So nervously
Because
I can't think straight
I can't think
At all
When I'm around you
