Eliza POV

I held my head down, having beard the news of my sister. My classmates gave me confused looks as I walked down the hall.

I was about to walk into the classroom, when I noticed Alex, looking more depressed than me.

"What happened to you?" I asked, walking up to his locker.

"I noticed his eyes are beautiful, but mine are brown and boring," Alex sulked.

What?

"Wait, who's eyes?" I grinned, Alex would look cute with anybody, honestly.

"W-Wait! You didn't hear that!" He stuttered defensively.

"Oh yes I did! Who are you crushing on?!" I inquired excitedly

"You wouldn't understand, you don't have a crush,"

"Theo,"

"What?"

"She's the one I like, so how about you?"

"Promise you won't tell?" He sighed.

"I promise!"

"J-John..."

"Oh my god! You guys would be so cute together!" I squealed.

"No... he deserves better,"

"You are better, for him!" I put my hand on his shoulder reassuringly.

The bell rang, and we went our separate ways.

"John, there you are! I've been looking all over for you!" I exclaimed.

He kept going through his locker.

"John? John!!" I yelled, trying to get his attention.

"Oh, oh! Eliza! Sorry, I've got a lot on my mind," John apologized.

"Like a certain someone?" I wiggled my eyebrows.

"N-No!"

"Please John, we're best friends, you can tell me anything!"

"Okay, okay! I-I um... l-like Martha,"

My heart dropped.

It hurts
Knowing something
The other doesn't
Smiling
Like it's all fine
When really
I'm lying
To my own friend
