Eliza POV

I couldn't believe it.

Alex liked John, and John didn't like him back.

I couldn't seem to wrap my mind around it.

"Theo, Thank goodness! I need to talk to you!" I ran up to our lunch table, and pulled her aside.

"What's so important? I'm trying to eat my pizza!" She complained.

"Alex likes John!"

"Aww, that'd be cute-"

"And John likes someone else!"

"Wait, what?! Who?!"

"Some girl named Martha," I sulked.

"Alex should try to make him jealous!" Theo suggested.

"That idea isn't too bad... but who should we set him up with?"

"How about you? You seem to know all this stuff, it'd be easier for you,"

"True. I'll go tell Alex about the plan! Thanks for your suggestion!" I said, then ran off.

"Alex, come with me!" I pulled him aside as well.

"What do you need?" Alex inquired.

"I have a plan to get John to like you!"

"Liza, John doesn't have to like me. Can't we just let this be?"

"No! We can not!"

He sighed, "What's your plan anyway?"

"We make him jealous!"

"W-We?"

"Yep! I pretend to be into you, so he's into you, and maybe Theo will be into me!" I exclaimed.

"Your lucky I don't have many friends," He rolled his eyes.

"So that's a yes?!"

"Uhh... yes,"

"Yes!"

We walked back to the table, and I took his hand.

"E-Eliza-"

"Call me Liza," I gave him a reassuring smile.

He seemed nervous, but didn't say anything.

"Laf and I have an... announcement," Herc broke the awkward silence.

We all nodded, signaling them to speak.

"We're dating!" Laf and Herc exclaimed in unison.

"Congratulations!" Peggy smiled.

"I've shipped it since the beginning!" John laughed.

Alex smiled and congratulated them as well, but I could see a glint of remaining pain in his eyes.
