Angelica POV
Eliza told me what John had done. I was furious. John didn't deserve someone as sweet and loving as Alexander.
I had no other choice than to approach John about this privately, so that's what I did.
I headed to John's apartment, fuming. Once I arrived, I knocked on his door, even though it was more like banging.
"Yes- Oh, Angelica! It's been awhile, hasn't it-"
Before John could finish his sentence, I cut him off.
"You've invented a new kind of stupid," I deadpanned.
"What?"
"A damage you can never undo kind of stupid,"
"What're you talking about?"
"A let out of the animals in the zoo kind of stupid,"
"Angelica?-"
"Congratulations,"
"Angelica, what happened?"
"You know damn well what happened!"
I walked inside completely, and shut the door.
"Well, I obviously don't! Can you maybe explain?!"
"Why should I be the one explaining?! No one should be explaining, except for you!"
"Explain what?!"
"Oh, I don't know! How you cheated on Alexander?! Yeah, I know. He told Eliza about that Francis guy, and she told Peggy and I,"
John stayed silent.
"Please, explain to everyone how you cheated on your boyfriend, knowing the consequences! 'Cause Alex doesn't deserve to explain what happened again, and neither do I! Own up to your fate already!" I yelled.
John only stayed silent, and I could see droplets of liquid falling down his freckled cheeks.
"Crying won't make anyone forgive you for what you did, Laurens," I muttered coldly.
I was about to leave, when John finally spoke up, "At least I didn't have a one night stand with Thomas Paine, resulting in pregnancy."
My eyes widened, my heart dropped, and I could feel the color drain from my once confident expression.
"How the hell do you know that?!" I whipped my head around.
"Francis told me. He told me all about you and Thomas Paine," John sneered.
"Fine, then if you know so much, tell me all about this!"
I may have sounded confident, but I was secretly very nervous.
"You we're dating Paine in your freshman year of high school, but whenever he left for college at the end of the year, you two broke up. Now he's in his third year of college, and you're in your final year of high school. Yet, you had a one night stand with him. Now you're pregnant. Did I miss anything?" He smirked.
Shit. He had gotten every fact correct.
"F-Fine! We make our mistakes, but you hurt multiple people!" I reasoned.
John seemed defeated, but that didn't stop him from glaring daggers at me as I left.
Peggy POV
Eliza told me what John had done. I was, to say the least, highly disappointed in John.
We had known each other for years, and we treated each other like siblings, I knew him too well. And I knew he wouldn't have done something like this, but alas, I was wrong.
Eliza and I decided to take a different approach compared to our older sister. We decided to confront Francis about this.
After all, Alex had told us everything that had been said in the messages he saw. Apparently, Francis didn't know that John actually did have a boyfriend, so we thought it'd be better to tell Francis about Alex. Maybe he'd leave John, knowing he was a lying, cheating jerk.
Well, I didn't entirely think John was to blame. We never got his side of the story on the whole situation. John didn't seem like the type of person to cheat on someone. And plus, I knew that John was, and still is, in love with Alexander, and I think he just made a mistake.
"Are you ready to go?" Eliza inquired.
We were about to meet up with Francis, something that I wasn't quite prepared for.
"Yup," I sighed.
We exited our mansion, and headed to the Starbucks where Francis apparently worked.
The walk there was quiet, and tensions were high. Overall, we just kept sighing and mumbling about how stupid love can be.
Once we arrived, we sat down at a booth, and were soon greeted by no other than the man himself, Francis.
"Ah, are you two Eliza and Peggy?" He inquired, sitting down across from Eliza and I.
"Yes, and you must be Francis?" Eliza said, a bit formal.
"Yup. We're here to talk about John, correct?"
"Oh, yes. So, you and John are dating right?" Eliza replied.
I could hear her words tighten when she mentioned the dating part.
"Yeah, what about it?"
Eliza stayed silent, so I decided to chime in, "He has a boyfriend."
I could see guilt rise up in his dark eyes.
"O-Oh! I am so sorry! I didn't know he had a boyfriend! He never told me..." Francis mumbled the last part, obviously realizing John had lied to him.
We all sat there in silence, until Francis spoke up again.
"Since you told me something important, I might as well tell you something too..."
Eliza and I looked up, confused.
"I know who the father is to your sister's baby,"
"Really?! Who?!" Eliza and I gasped in unison.
"Thomas Paine,"
