"My mind is trapped in a fog, unable to escape."

Kai sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair, frustrated with himself. He knew that he disliked the annoying, puny spirit when he first met her, so why was he helping her?

Kai leaned against the tree while listening to the peaceful sounds around him, trying to relax after getting a headache from all the thinking. He looked at the resting body of the girl, her peaceful expression as she rested. Upon looking at her, his lips curved making a small smile. He hadn't realized that she looked really peaceful, which made his nerves relax a bit.

By looking at her, he had realized something he had almost long forgotten. His lips curved into a bigger smile as he opened his mouth to say something.

"I guess I got it from Mom, her neverending kindness."

"...Uhhhh" Kai's eyes widened as she stirred a bit. Her eyes slowly opened as some blossoms around them fell. Kai ignored her waking up, as he didn't want to get hit in the face after being the first thing she saw.

She immediately sat up, wide eyed while looking at the blossoms. She then looked at the lake surrounding half of the hill. The spirit then realized something as she whispered something, relaxing her tensed muscles a bit. Kai couldn't hear her inaudible voice as his head was still throbbing from thinking too much.

"So, you finally realized I didn't take anything?" Her eyes went wide once more as she faced the direction of Kai, her mouth gaping a little. Kai looked back at her with a frown, feeling impatient as she hasn't gripped the thought that he had helped her.

"You-what are you- but-" She stuttered, starting to get confused. Kai chuckled a little as she ended up in the same boat as he did just a few moments ago.

"I know, confusing huh? Just moments ago, you were facing a person who wanted-no, demanded for the relic you protect, but now you find out he helped you. Honestly, I don't know what I'm doing either, so I can't answer your question why." The spirit stared at the demon in confusion and a bit of understanding. Kai crossed his arms as he closed his eyes and leaned against the tree, breathing in the fresh air.

"Oh yeah," He opened his eyes and looked at the female guardian, "You h haven't told me what your name is, girl."

A vein popped out in Misaki's forehead as she stared at the demon, annoyed. "It's Misaki." She gritted her teeth.

Kai looked at her unimpressed, "Only Misaki? How about a last name? Or a title?"

Misaki looked away from his eyes, "I don't have one, and I'm referred to as the divine spirit, or the protector of Cray." Kai frowned, pitying the girl as she felt sad. He thought for a second before suggesting his idea, avoiding her eyes.

"Tokura, it fits you well."

Misaki looked at him in surprise before narrowing her eyes, skeptical of the prince. "Why are you so friendly all of a sudden? And why give me a last name? Spirits don't need one."

Kai raised a brow, "What do you mean? You're not a spirit, your half human, half oracle."

"Oh yeah, how did you know about that?"

Kai smirked, as he stood from where he was seated. Misaki looked at him, still in surprise.

"If you haven't forgotten, demons have lived for many years. One thing I know is that spirits don't show any sickness, in which case you had a high fever which was cured by a small drink of the waterfall's water. I then found out you had overused your magic as you regenerated a lot of leaves just a moment before we met. So, I concluded that you weren't really a spirit, but a human guardian-oracle of this- peaceful place." Kai explained, stopping for a moment as he realized that this was the first time he had formed a long conversation with anyone.
