"Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery."

Misaki was back at her old home. Way before she was placed in Cray, she lived in the palace of the Heavens. After all, she was a Goddess too. She spent most of her childhood in the heavenly sanctuary.

She walked around the long, marble built hallway. Opening the large door at the end, she entered her old room.

It was gigantic. There was a large window with a windowsill couch, a great place to read books. There was also her large bed, her huge book collection, her toys, her wardrobe and her dressing table.

She ran her fingers on every furniture that was present in her room. Memories started filling her head as she reminisce of the little, happy Misaki. The time when her parents were still alive.

Her parents. Kai.

Misaki's heart ached. She didn't know what to do. Should she follow her heart and continue to love Kai or should she follow her head and leave him? Shouldn't she be mad at him? Why is she only feeling pain?

Misaki burst into tears in the middle of the room at the thought of leaving Kai alone and broken after he confessed who he really was. It made him believe that she would leave if he told her, although in fact she did, she didn't mean that implication.

She loved Kai, but what can she do when she found out he killed her family?

"Are you lost, young one?" Someone in the room spoke. Misaki jumped out of her curled state and into a defensive state.

"This palace is supposed to be empty. Who are you? What are you doing here?" She brought out her familiar, Amaterasu, a spirit of the sun.

"Do not be afraid, for I mean no harm. So, do you want to know the truth behind your lover and your parents?"

The mysterious voice asked the trembling girl. In an instant, she released Amaterasu.

"Tell me, what happened?" Misaki demanded the mysterious voice, yet she only heard a chuckle.

Suddenly, a stride gate opened and sucked Misaki in. In no time, she fell unconsious.

It was the dawn of twilight when Kai planned to meet the Gods in order to discuss his proposal. He was going to risk letting Reverse take control of him once more, but it was better than letting a wandering soul loose and not set it free.

Misaki's soul watched as the archangels she knew and idolized so much as a child flocked down to Earth and to where Kai stood. Her fists clenched themselves after finding out the real people behind the murder.

"So, will you accept our proposal? As long as you kill the Goddess of Balance and her human lover, we will set the human's demon soul free."

Kai grimaced, "Fine, I accept."

Slitting his palm and letting blood drip to a goblet, he formed a blood pact with the four Archangels. Within a split second, Kai opened a stride gate and left their meeting place. The four archangels then chuckled with corruption.

Misaki was also transported to another place. She recognized the place very well.

"Cray." She whispered.

Under the trees she nurtured for many years, she saw her mother and her father happily writing scriptures. Cray was their special place. It was where her parents met for the first time.

'Just like us...' She couldn't help but think.

Hidden in the shadows was Kai. While their guard was let down, Kai took the opportunity to kill them in one go. As they were laughing together, he hit them with demonic--

Misaki closed her eyes before she saw what happened to her parents. The wind surrounding Cray blew harder than she's ever imagined, and the lake turned blood red. The grass was soaked with crimson blood, and Misaki's parents laid lifeless on the ground.

Suddenly, a miasma enveloped Kai's body.

"No, no, no, no... They, they lied! Crap!" The demonic realm roared as he was immediately transported to the realm. He was enveloped in this thick, red miasma, and dark lines appeared on his face.

Misaki was terrified of who he was now. He wasn't the man she fell for, he was someone else. All because he wanted to protect Aika, he turned into this. He was betrayed by her clan, and suffered even more suffering.

"A-Aika..." Misaki sharply turned her head to the left to see Aika, his little sister watching him. All his other brothers were there too. They all watched as the miasma gathered and hit Aika in the chest. Within an instant, she dropped down to the floor.

All Misaki could do was watch as the brothers tried waking their sister up, and as Zenaku continued to laugh histerically at his offsprings. Anger rose up to the pit of her stomach. She now knew who to be mad at.

"Zenaku and the Goddess Clan, I'll be sure to eliminate you."

Misaki awoke in her bed. It was already nighttime by the time she woke up. It was a half moon that night, which meant that she had no time to waste getting back to Kai.

After seeing the truth, she finally knows what she has to do.

"Kai," She whispered, putting her clenched fists onto her chest. "I'll never leave you again."

Misaki got out of her bed and opened a stride gate leading to where Kai was. She had to get to him immediately and apologize. But when she got out of the stride gate, she was nowhere near Kai, but instead at the lair of their enemy.

"My, my, looks like you fell right into my trap."

Misaki cursed as she recognized the stromg demonic aura.

"Zenaku."

Eyy we finally getting spice in this storyyy!

But I am sad though. I didn't actually expect that Kai was going to be sadder than what I initiated him to be. But I guess that's how he got his hatred of Zenaku, and how he turned cold and bitter for good.

You could say Misaki was his savior.

Anyways, have a good day, and stay safe from COVID19 everyone!
