"Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you're not really losing it. You're just passing it on to someone else."

It was two days before the full moon. The Vanguard Alliance has been well-informed of what had happened to the brides. Expressing utmost anger and remorse, they began to prepare for the war.

Kai was focusing on controlling Reverse. If he wanted to get Misaki back, he'd have to do as his father said. His other brothers were also challenging themselves to get even more powerful. They all had the same goal, after all. No group of siblings wouldn't be competitive when they all have one goal.

"Kai," Ren watched as Kai once again failed to accept Reverse wholeheartedly. He fell to the floor, exhausted and bruised. "Take a break."

"No," The brunette breathed out. "I can't. You all succeeded in improving your power and magic level, whereas I have not. There must be something I'm missing, maybe more focus, power, or--"

"Maybe, what you need is rest." Ren cut him off, a sly smile on his face. Kai scoffed.

"Look, I don't need you interfering more with my--" Once again, Kai was cut off when a white streak of light struck through his head. In no time, he succumbed to slumber.

"You know, Kai will definitely wake up pissed after you knocked him out, Aichi. Good job." Ren joked, and Aichi couldn't help but chuckle.

Kai woke up in a field of flowers. The summer breeze blew past him, whispering in his ears. He was dreaming again. He let out a breath of relief.

"It seems you're having a hard time unleashing Reverse's true potential. " Kai looked away from her as Mikuru walked to him and sat beside him.

"I don't get it. I'm trying my best to embrace it, but why doesn't it want to control me?" Kai covered his eye with his left hand in frustration. Mikuru hummed in reply.

"You're afraid, aren't you?" Mikuru couldn't help but chuckle, "Why are you so afraid of yourself?"

"What?" Kai looked at her confused. She sent a smile.

"This field of flowers you are seeing," She looked around. "Is all thanks to Reverse."

"But how? How can I stop being afraid of Reverse?" Kai asked her once more.

"Just ease your fear."

Mikuru stood and inhaled the nice, summer breeze before a light started glowing in her hand.

Holding the light, she motioned Kai to get up from his seat and near her. He stood and walked to her, hands in his pockets. As soon as he reached her, Mikuru and the field disappeared. Kai fell alert as the world around him turned dark and evil, similar to that of the miasma in the demon realm.

'What is this place...' Kai couldn't help but think. A figure formed in front of her, a figure Kai knew so well.

It was him, only in his psychotic state. The person he feared to become when he goes out of control.

"You..." Kai shuddered in disgust. He started to remember all the things he did in that form.

"Hello Toshiki," The figure began to laugh. "How have you been? It's been a while since we've seen each other."

"So you're the obstacle interfering in my goal?" Kai let out a deep breath. "I see, now I know."

"What, you aren't answering me?" The figure laughed menacingly. His laugh wasn't anywhere near to Kai's laugh at all. It was demonic, scary, and haunting.

"I've been well, Reverse." Kai smiled. "Now, can you tell me what you want?"

Kai's Reverse shadow hummed. "I don't want much, Kai. All you need to do is let me free."

Kai smirked, "And what do I gain from that?"

"Of course, I'll let you use the power to whatever extent you wish." Kai smiled, his heart no longer scared. The Reverse Kai then reverted to another version of himself.

"I am you, and you are me."

"Nice try, girls, but you're going to need to give me more than just that." Zenaku laughed, watching Sharlene and Tokoha pass out.

They'd been trying to get out for days, but it seems Zenaku was only using up that energy to enhance the power of the Demon Realm. Without a doubt, he was using them as guinea pigs to produce demon magic that he can manipulate.

Asaka fell first, followed by Kourin. Sharlene and Tokoha held out until their last ounce of power was used up. However, Misaki was still fresh. Being the Relic of Cray, she had an endless supply of power. Besides that, she had goddess blood, which meant her power could very well be infinite.

"It seems you're still strong." Zenaku couldn't help but comment as he watched Misaki lay all her friends in a straight line and chant a healing spell.

"I won't let you harm anyone, Zenaku," Misaki told him. "I know that we can't exit this cage at all unless you let us out. So, tell me, how do I get out of here?"

Zenaku chuckled, "That's easy for you."

The king chanted a few words, and the cage disappeared. Misaki stayed alert for all her friends, there was no way he was letting them go so easily.

"What are you doing?" She asked in a dark tone.

"Just what you asked, darling." Misaki shuddered in disgust at the name. "Lady Misaki, Goddess of Balance."

"Shut up! And that's Tokura for you." Misaki screamed. She hated that title.

Zenaku continued to laugh, "Oh, you really used the last name Kai gave you?"

He placed his hand on Misaki's chin and rose her head, forcing her to lool at him. "In return for not doing anything to your friends, assist me in resurrecting the Ten Commandments."

Misaki's eyes widened as she swatted gis hand away from her chin, "You're insane to think I would agree to such terms."

Zenaku's eyes darkened, and a sharp spike rose from the floor. He bound Misaki with a strong, demonic bind and grabbed Asaka by the hair.

The guardian's eyes widened in fear, "Don't you dare!"

"Then agree to my terms, Guardian." Misaki bit her lip. She didn't want to be in her true form, but it seemed her situation gave her no choice.

"Regalia of Wisdom," Misaki said, and her guardian clothes were immediately replaced with her true form, "Angelica."

Zenaku smirked and placed his hand on Misaki's shoulder. "My, my, my son sure has chosen a good bride."

In disgust, Misaki blighted him with her magic. "Listen, I will only agree to your terms as long as you let them go, and if you don't harass me at all."

Zenaku grinned, seeing the painful burns he had on his hands. He started laughing menacingly.

"Of course, Misaki. As you wish." Misaki scrunched her nose. She couldn't believe she was doing this.
