AN: Long time no post, huh? Sorry about that. School's been rough and I've experienced a lot of things since the last chapter. I decided to have short side stories about the secondary females since they will be showing a big part later in the war. Here we have Asaka, our innocent young maiden. But what goes on beyond her cheerful attitude?

---

The brightly lit campfire burned and cackled into the night as it warmed those around it. Many of the witches around the coven had been discussing about potions and spells that could benefit their life. Beauty, Love, Acceptance. Each and every one of them had selfish plans which they wanted ever so dearly.

Asaka could only listen to the evil laughs and schemes they planned. She was the Heiress to the throne of High Priestess. She had no intention of joining her family's devilish acts, but had been forced to when she discovered her phsycic powers at the young age of 10.

"Asaka, come here my daughter." A middle aged woman called out to her daughter, seated on a chair which eyes the witches. Asaka quietly obeyed and walked to her mother. The High Priestess smiled as she looked at her favorite daughter and stood up once the girl was in front of her.

"Greetings, High Priestess. You have called me, mother?" Asaka politely asked, addressing her mother formally before informally asking her a question.

"Follow me." The High Priestess' smirk fell as she walked to the back of the main area to where the ruins of a castle they infiltrated was present. Asaka concentrated on her mother's behavior, and nothing seemed off. She brushed the thought of trouble as she quickened her pace to match her mother's. Soon, they stopped.

"What is it that you wanted to do that you had to take me here, Mother?"

"Asaka," The High Priestess inhaled before letting out a deep sigh. Asaka feared for the worst to come as her heart pounded greatly.

"The coven is to fall apart soon. I had read the card readings multiple times myself, and it's true. In a few days, magic-proof ogres will rape and murder our people while we will have no chance of fighting back. Many of us will meet our ends. However, the coven will never die if there is an heiress still preseny."

"Are you telling me... to leave before I meet my demise? But what about you?"

"Do not worry about me, child, for I have lived long enough. I shall pass on the Pale Moon Jewels and the Moonstone Pendant to you, as well as my spell book."

In the purple miasma that came out of the High Priestess' hand, the named items were present. With a heavy heart, she gave them to her daughter, who was stilled shocked by the news. The mother could only sadly smile.

"You will go to a poor village to start a new life as a mortal, but protect these artifacts from the dangers around it. These items are the only things left of the coven. You are to leave tomorrow morning." Asaka couldn't hold the tears any longer as she tightly hugged her mother. At the age of 14, she could brightly understand the pain she would feel from losing her family. They were everything to her, and yet she knew she couldn't change fate.

Hugging her mother tightly as they shared their last moment alone together, tragedy struck for the worst. Immediately, the High Priestess casted a protection spell for Asaka and ushered her to leave the coven. With a lamented heart, she faced a new, bright light as she started to live in a small, perfect village.

AN: I can't help but feel like it isn't enough. I could really do better but time isn't in good terms with me. Hope you saw a glimpse of who she was though!
