When life is near its end, how will you be remembered most? What is your legacy? I think it's human nature to want to live forever. Children are an extension of a part of ourselves. A way of living on....to be remembered. If that is true, then without children, your life seems to end. How will you be remembered? Who will carry the torch of your passions and dreams? Of your love? If you give your heart to someone else, they keep the memory of your love alive. They pass it on to others. You live in the hearts of many passing on the wisdom, truth and love that you once had in you. Maybe that's why the love of Christ is so powerful. It lives and breathes in the hearts of many. It's the love that never ends. Yes, Christ is so much more because He is alive. HE IS LIFE. He overcame it all. He overcame sin by death on the cross. He overcame death through the power of his resurrection. If we believe, then one day we too shall overcome also. But until His glory is revealed and eternity becomes truth, we still don't understand. We still try to live on in a world that eventually will drift away and be no more and yet still hoping to live on. But Christ is the only way! Loneliness is the silent killer. It deprives us of our ability to share, to grow, and to love. And so we cease to exist. Dead and buried before we are dead and gone with no legacy to leave behind. Just like Michael W. Smith sang, "Love isn't love till you give it away." It is also reciprocal. Love must be given and received to form a knot that binds you together. Being heartfully bound to another human being is what makes us feel eternal, it keeps us alive. It is our legacy.
