Chapter 36: Fireworks

~Hunter's POV~

i woke up to the sound of the guards yelling. what was someone trying to escape? what the hell was going on?!

"hurry up!"

"it's about time... we've been waiting too long, damn-it"

"c'mon let's just get this over with, i've got a life" 

"guards what's going on?" i asked.

"oh lucky day for your friend, he's getting released"

"abut damn time, we've kept him for too long. maybe this time he'll stay out of trouble" a second guard piped up. 

"h-he's going home?" i asked.

"yeah wherever as long as he's far from here" the first guard spoke as he opened Jace's cell. "hey pretty boy, it's your lucky day... you're getting released"

"w-what?" he mumbled, as he sat up in bed.

"c'mon punk, let's go. you're wasting out time" a guard sneered as he grabbed Jace by the arm and began dragging him outside of his cell. 

he looked over to me. worry and sadness appeared in his eyes. "Jace!" i yelled, as i gripped onto the bars.

"Hunter what do i do? my family hates me? where do i go?" he plead.

i stumbled back... he was right... i was all he had... except... "Jace, find Hailey. find my sister, she'll let you stay at her house. find Hailey!" i screamed, as the guards dragged him farther and farther away from me. "i'll be out before you know it, okay. we'll figure this out when i get out, just find her, Jace!" i screamed at the top of my lungs, receiving glares from other prisoners.

"Connor, i have to thank you. all of you are worried i know, but i have problems and i want to get help. i want to stop, but it's so hard. i can't. difficult" Jc sighed.

"don't worry Jc, we're all here for you. one day, you'll beat this addiction and i can't wait for that day" Connor smiled.

"yeah that will be a day, i'd love to see"

"so, you're coming tonight right? we're all going down to the park to watch fireworks... please tell me you're coming?" Connor asked.

"will there be alcohol?"

"Jc, i'm being serious. you need to start controlling all this alcohol you're consuming. Hailey is going to come, i believe and i don't want to see my sister's heart broken at the sight of you binge drinking"

"but there will be alcohol right?" 

"yes, but you have to limit how much you drink tonight. it's the first time all six of us are going to see her in over a month. and i don't want her to be heartbroken over your situation. now c'mon, the boys are expecting us at the park soon"

"Hailey c'mon hurry up. the boys are expecting us at the park already... it's already ten, that means 4th of July is almost over" Andrea yelled.

"i'm coming, chill out." Hailey called, as she ran down the stairs. "Mom, we're leaving okay!" Hailey screamed.

"alright! Have fun and be safe!"

"finally now we can go" Andrea smiled, as she opened the front door.

"Jace?" Hailey asked.

"um hi" he breathed heavily. "i've been looking all over town for you. can i have a minute?" he asked.

"i'll be in the car" Andrea smiled, as she walked past Jace.

"what are you doing here? i thought you were in jail, with my brother?"

"we were but apparently they let me go. i have nowhere to go. my family disowned me, he told me to find you. leaving him was one of the hardest things i've ever done" he sighed.

"you really like him?"

"as weird as it sounds, yes Hailey. i love him. and leaving him, i felt horrible just leaving him there. who knows when they will let him go. but he told me i could stay here, just until i can-"

"of course you can stay here. my mother won't mind. now, Andrea and i were going to the park to watch some fireworks with some friends. do you want to come?"

"beats being alone"

"are you sure Hailey is coming?" Jc paced.

"positive, and it'll be okay. i'm sure she's nervous to see us too" Kian assured.

"nervous? why would she be nervous? i'm the one freaking out here"

"Jc calm down and relax i think the girls are here" Trevor nodded, as he saw flashing lights turn onto the street.

"oh god... oh god. it's happening. this is happening" Jc panicked.

"just breathe" Connor smiled, as the car came to a halt.

Andrea came running out. "Finally, leg room!" she screamed as she stretched other legs. "Hailey c'mon it' so nice outside"

~Jc's POV~

i saw Andrea bolt out pf the car, she began stretching her legs and began screaming for Hailey to get out of the car. i would be lying if i told you i wasn't scared. i was terrified. seeing Hailey after so long, it finally came down to this moment.

"just breathe" Connor reminded me, as we watched Hailey climb out of the car. but she wasn't alone.

it was him. the brunette form my nightmare. he was here, with her. it was slowly all coming true.

"no, not him" i whispered.

"what?" Ricky asked, as we all watched Hailey help him out of the car. we watched as he whisper something that made Hailey smile.

"my nightmare... Connor he was there. in my dream... i think it's slowly coming true" i panicked.

no, this is not happening. you can't lose your mind. not now, Jc. i need alcohol, and i need it now before my head explodes.
