~Hailey's POV~
I looked up to see him standing there. Jc was standing there. Oh please oh please don't notice me. Please God, please. I wasn't ready to see him after all these years. He broke my heart. It has been awkward ever since then. He promised we'd stay in touch. That never happened. He lied. He found new friends. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't remember me, but oh boy did I remember him.
If I don't say anything he won't notice...
"Um Hi" I blurted, causing everyone else too. Damnit, Hailey! Why are you so stupid, I mentally face-palmed myself.
"Hey man you're here" Kian smiled as they bro hugged. I had to admit that was cute.
He looked up, right into my eyes before smiling. "Hey, you must be Hailey, Connor's step-sis right?" He asked while flashing me an adorable smile.
"Yes, that's me" I smiled weakly as I looked over to my mother. Please remember him, Mom? Remember him so, I'm not crazy?
"Mom!" I startled her.
"What?" She asked.
"Do you want to help me put the groceries away?" I asked with pleading eyes. Please say yes, please say yes.
"Alright" She smiled as she got off the couch and walked with me into the kitchen.
~
"Mom I-"I started.
"I know, sweetie. I know. It's Justin. I remember but he didn't remember you".
"Mommy, what do I do? It was awkward when we separated and once he remembers it will be even more awkward"
"Hailey breathe. It'll be okay. He'll remember you soon enough, the memories will come back to him. And when he does remember you the first thing he'll want is to talk it through. I mean you can't exactly avoid him, he's here everyday spending his free time with Connor and the other boys." My mother whispered trying not to try any attention to herself from the boys.
I looked past my mother and into the living room where the boys were staring at me; I took a deep breath and turned to my mom.
"It had to be his best friend's Dad?" I whined.
"Sorry hun, love is love".
I covered my face with my eyes. "I can't believe he doesn't remember".
"Give him time" My mother assured.
"I'll pass" I sighed as I walked back into the living room. I stared at the boys before saying. "I'm going to go unpack" I whispered as I walked up the stairs.
My mother followed behind and called up the stairs.
"This isn't my problem, your mess, you fix it".
"How?" I called back.
"Give it time Hailey. Alright?"
I groaned, frustrated and turned on my heel before storming upstairs.
My mother sighed before turning to the boys. "What's her problem?" Connor scoffed.
"Son, be nice" Robert rubbed his temples.
"Does she need help?" Sam offered.
"She's like that, thank you Sam" Diana smiled.
"Sure thing" He smiled as he ran upstairs.
~
Sam made his way down the hallway and knocked on Hailey's door. "Yes?" She asked.
"It's Sam, I asked your mom if you needed any help unpacking" He explained as he waited for Hailey to open the door.
