Chapter 14: I can't go.... I won't go

~Connor’s POV~ (Right before Kian took Hailey home)

Jc and I watched as Kian led Haley to the car. I sighed before turning to Jc. “You did this” I spat at him, as I pushed him a little.

“What are you talking about?” He hissed back.

“Connor, Jc! That’s enough! No more fighting. You two need to figure this out. I’m sure Hailey hates seeing you two fight. You’re supposed to be friends! This isn’t how friends behave!” Ricky yelled.

“Why can’t you two get along…? For Hailey?” Trevor asked.

“What?” I asked.

“Kian. He took her home, they mostly Hailey couldn’t see you two fight. She cares about you two a lot. She doesn’t like to see you two fight like Jc and I fight” Sam sighed.

I sighed, Sam did have a point. Jc and I have been fighting a lot. But I did have a reason for all of this. Hailey is my sister; well she was going to be in September when our parents get married. But I guess, I’ve already accepted her as my sister now. I needed to do the right thing. Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate Jc; I just dislike the fact that all he has to do is flip his hair and smirk and Hailey’s wrapped around his fingers. I care about Hailey, I do. I just don’t want her to get hurt, like the last time she saw Jc. And Jc was friends with Ricardo and I still don’t trust him anymore since he left. Who knows, Jc could still be talking with him. I don’t know, but for now I will do the right thing for Hailey and myself.

“Connor?” Ricky asked as he waved his hand in front of my face

“Huh what?” I asked.

“Are you listening?” Sam asked.

“No, and Jc?” I asked, as I turned to him.

“Yes Connor?” He asked, as he turned to me.

“I don’t hate you. I don’t enjoy that you love my soon to be sister but, I guess I’ll get over it” I mumbled.

“Thank you Connor” He smiled.

“But hurt her and I swear I will cut off your balls while you’re sleeping” I glared at him.

“Understood” He whispered, as he took a few steps away from me.

~Third Person’s POV, after Kian and Hailey left the party~

Hailey was sound asleep, as Kian walked into her room to check on her, he approached the bed quietly, as he sat next to her, he smiled as he watched her smile in her sleep before he slightly shook her a little as he whispered “Hailey wake up”

“No” She mumbled, as she kicked Kian off her bed, as she turned her face to the other side of her pillow.

“Rude” He spat, as he stood up and brushed himself off.

“What time is it?” She mumbled.

“Six in the morning, the boys are on they’re way home” Kian responded.

“How long did the party go on?” Hailey asked confused.

“Till’ like 4 or something, they all stayed behind to help clean up, Sam texted me saying they’re on their way home. Now get up”

“Why?” Hailey groaned.

“I need your answer, so are you?” Kian asked, as Hailey froze and sat up.

“Kian I-” She started.

“Hailey, I just need a simple yes or no. Why is this so hard for you?” He asked, as Hailey jumped off her bed and turned to him.

“I have to think about a few things, how I’m leaving my mom behind. How I’m going back to where it all started? Seeing the kids that bullied me again?” Hailey whispered, as she grabbed the door handle.

“Hailey I know this is hard for you, but you’ll be safe with us. You can trust me” Kian called after Hailey as she made her way downstairs with Kian following her.

“Kian please, just leave me be” She plead.

~Meanwhile~

“We’re here, now try not to make a scene in front of Hailey” Ricky called, as he looked at Connor and Jc, as everyone got out of the car.

The boys walked up to the front door but stopped when they heard yelling from inside.

“KIAN STOP!” Hailey screamed, as all the boys heard something break, from inside.

“NO HAILEY YOU DON’T GET IT!” He screamed, back as something else broke.

“Kian please, just understand why…” Hailey whispered this time.

“Hailey!” Kian exclaimed.

“I don’t want too” She whispered, as she walked closer to him, and touched his arm.

“Why?” I thought for sure you’d say yes”

“I can’t Kian”

“Why? Why Hailey? Diana, wouldn’t mind, so why?” Kian asked, as he grabbed her shoulders.

“I can’t” She mouthed.

“Why?” Kian whispered.

“I can’t be the reason for the fighting. I can’t stand it anymore. I can’t. As much as I love Jc and Connor, I can’t go”

“Please Hailey please, just say yes?” Kian plead.

“Kian” She started, as tears formed.

“Give me one reason why?!” He yelled, as he trapped her in a corner.

Connor and the boys came running, “Kian!” Connor yelled.

“One reason” Kian whispered.

“Kian stop!” Trevor yelled, as Kian turned to Trevor and glared at him.

“One” Kian whispered, as he turned back to Hailey.

“I love him; I want him to be happy. I want both of them to be. They can’t be if I’m there to cause the fighting” Hailey whispered softly so only Kian could hear.

“Very well, If that you’re final decision?” Kian asked softly.

Hailey looked back at Jc and Connor, as they stared at her with confused faces, wondering what was going on. “Yes Kian. I’m sure” She whispered.
