Chapter 29: Through the Dark

Guys, I am so sorry for again taking FOREVER to write. I apologize, i've been really really busy and i know i'm just giving excuses but I'm really trying.

"Did you just threaten me?" Joseph yelled at Jc as he was already half way up the stairs.

"Sure, if you think about it that way" Jc shrugged, as he backed off the stairs to look at Joseph face to face.

"I will not stand here and be threatened by some kid! Diana, I will not stand for this!" Joseph yelled

"FOR THE LAST TIME, I'M NOT A KID. I'M TWENTY-ONE YEARS OLD! DO I SEEM LIKE SOME KID TO YOU?" Jc yelled.

"Jc! Please. Look Joseph, I'm sure Jc did not mean to threaten you... he's just worried about Hailey. That's all" Diana clarified.

"No, I did mean to threaten him"

"GUYS!" Sam yelled, as he came running down the stairs.

"WHAT SAM?" Jc yelled.

"Um, Hailey's not in her room. I just went to go check on her and her windows wide open"

"But, her bedroom is on the second floor. Did she really jump out opf her window, that's on the second floor... just to get away?" Trevor asked.

"Yeah, from that monster!" Jc yelled, as he pointed his finger right at Joseph.

"How dare you call me that! I can assure you, what I did in the past was the best for my daughter. And I don't appreciate you coming here and telling me not. I love Hailey, I do" He hissed.

"Total bullshit, if you loved her... you would've never done those things to her!" Jc yelled back.

"Are you calling me a liar?"

"No sir, I am not" 

"Jc, c'mon I should get you out of here before you do something you regret!" Kian assured, as he tried to pull Jc.

"No Kian, fuck off!" Jc yelled.

"Boys, why don't you go see if you can get a hold of Hailey. Let us discuss this why don't we?" Diana offered.

"Oh Diana, always the "peace-keeper" or so she would always try to keep the peace" Savannah chuckled.

"Connor please take your friends outside. Savannah, Joseph, Jc and I will discuss this" 

"But Diana!" Connor started.

"Connor, please go. We don't want to start a scene. Just try and get a hold of your sister. Wherever she is, I hope she's okay" Diana whispered.

"Where are we going?" Hailey asked, as she tried to keep up.

"Do you trust me?"

"Excuse me?" Hailey asked, as she tried running to keep up.

"I said, do you trust me?"

"Of course, I do Nathan I do" Hailey whispered.

"Now normally, I shouldn't be doing this.... I could get fired since, it is after hours... But you're Hailey, so I always make exceptions"

"Thank you Nathan, I really need this"

"Of course, it's just down this dark hallway. If you don't mind me asking, why are you here so late? Aren't Diana and Robert going to worry?"

"No, well no not at the moment. My father and Savannah showed up today. All the way from Canada, Robert and Mom are dealing with them right now. I doubt anyone noticed i jumped out of my window from the second floor to be here"

"YOU DID WHAT?!"

"I jumped out of my window, that happened to be on the second floor. C'mon Nathan, you know I love to be wild sometimes"

"You could've hurt yourself. Why didn't you just use the back door or something?"

"Where's the fun in the "black door?" C'mon Nathan, live a little. We're not going to be young forever"

"I like my life just the way it is, thank you"

"How much farther do we have to walk in the dark? Like honestly, why is it so dark down here?" Hailey asked.

"This is not the greatest place we hold people... Hailey it's not going to be a five-star building, it's where some of the worst of the worst are held"

"And how exactly did you get keys to down here? I thought you just worked at the station?"

"I do, but sometimes especially during the night they need a few of us to help out, so I do. Just to make sure Hunter is alright"

"You do that?" Hailey asked astonished.

"You act so surprised?" Nathan asked, as he started to get his keys out.

"I just didn't know you cared about him"

"Well maybe not as much as you do, but I check up on his from time to time" Nathan shrugged as he fiddled with his keys.

"No need to open it, I just want to see him. To see my brother"

"Very well, here's his cell" Nathan nodded, as he handed the candle to Hailey. "Go ahead, step up. He might be awake, he doesn't sleep much.

Hailey nodded, as she grabbed the candle and placed it fairly close to her face, so you could barley see part of her face in the darkness. She slowly stepped up towards the cell before whispering... "Hunter?"

It was quiet for a few seconds, as she waited for an answer. She heard stones being kicked along with footsteps on the concrete floor. Until they stopped. It was completely silent until a response was given.

"Hailey? Hailey is that you?"

I'm sorry, but i have to stop writing there. I hope you guys liked it.

Again i am so so sorry for taking forever to write.

What will happen next? Just so all of you can mentally prepare, there will be a fight in the next chapter so you can look forward to that ;)
