Chapter 13: Brothers ruin EVERYTHING

~Hailey’s POV~

I sighed, as I crossed my arms, I looked at him for a few seconds; he held his hand out. “Please, just dance with me? We’re still friends right?” He whispered.

I looked away to see where all the other boys had wandered off too, Trevor and Sam were getting drinks while Connor, Kian and Ricky were outside talking. This might be my only chance to dance with him before Connor ruins it…. Why the hell not.

“Hailey?” Jc whispered, as I looked him.

“Yes” I whispered, as I intertwined my hand with his, as he led me to the dance floor.

He smiled, as he led me through the crowd of people, he eventually stopped and turned to me, pulling me close to him. He placed one of his hands on my waist, as he brought his other hand up towards my face, as I grabbed it my hand and place my other hand around his neck. “I didn’t know you knew how to dance” I whispered, as he pulled me closer to him, I flinched, as he whispered in my ear.

“We haven’t seen each other in three years, there’s many things you don’t know about me” He spoke softly.

I breathed slowly, as I became uncomfortable and stiff around him. “Relax Hailey, do I make you nervous?” He smirked as if he read my thoughts.

“N-no” I muttered, as he bit his slower lip and looked me in the eyes.

“You’re lying, you always stutter when you lie. Hailey, just relax I’m not a murderer. You’re safe in my arms” He whispered, as he pulled me closer to his chest, as I placed my hand on his chest and looking up into his eyes.

“I- Jc” I started.

“Shh, it’s okay you’re safe Hailey” He whispered in my ear, causing my heart to beat faster, as he pulled away from my ear, he smirked again before he kissed my cheek.

“Just don’t let go” I whispered, as he spun me.

“Never” He whispered, as he pulled me into his chest again.

He looked down at me, before he smiled big as we both leaned in for a kiss, I got tense, as he inched closer and closer to my lips, nothing could ruin this now.

I was wrong.

~Third person’s POV~

Connor stood with his arms crossed, as he stood around with Kian and Ricky. Kian noticed him, and his body language. “Dude, are you not having a good time or…?” Kian asked.

“I’m just tired that’s all” Connor sighed as he shook his head.

Sam and Trevor walked up laughing about who knows what. “What’s so funny?” Ricky asked.

“Nothing” Trevor sighed, as both of the boys recovered from their laughing fits.

“Wait, where’s Hailey?” Connor panicked as he looked around for his soon to be sibling.

“Dude, chill she’s with Jc” Trevor spoke up.

“With Jc? Where?” Connor demanded.

“We saw them about 5 minutes ago on the dance floor” Sam spat.

Connor didn’t even respond before he ran into the building and started searching frantically for Hailey and Jc.

“Connor stop!” Kian called after him, as Kian and everyone else chased after Connor. Connor whipped through groups of people until his eyes landed on Hailey and Jc. He grunted, as he watched as Jc moved a strand (Lol, see what I did there that’s Hailey’s last name. No? Ok….) of Hailey’s hair behind her ear, as her hand was placed on his chest as she was looking down, at their feet.
